Getting ready for my wedding
This is a true story....I used to have long hair..80's hair band kind of long
hair. However, during that time I always wanted to hop in the chair of a great
barber and have it all buzzed off. Anyway, I kept cutting it shorter and shorter
over the years as I "grew up" I guess. A few years ago it was exactly
like James Wilders hair (he used to be on Melrose Place). It was like that the
day before I was getting married in 1999. Well, about 3pm the day before I tied
the knot, my wife said to me, "cut your hair or I wont marry you" I
thought it was joking, and I knew that she didnt literally mean it. It wasnt a
power play or a condition of marriage, it was just a hint that she wanted it
more clean cut for the wedding. Playing her game I said, "alright, but you
have to take me". Well, she took me to American Barbershop in Lake Ridge,
Va (we lived in Lake Ridge at the time) and waited for my turn. When it was my
time, I sat in the chair and she proceeded to tell Ginger to take my hair into a
high and tight and she wanted it skinned up the back and sides. I NEVER had my
hair that short before in my life. And I really loved it that I was doing it for
my wife and she was almost forcing me to do this. It was very special on a lot
of levels. Two years later, I've gotten my hair cut AT LEAST every one or two
weeks. It never gets past a 2 guard at the barbershop. It's funny, now that I've
have it buzzed down for two years she wants me to let it grow out more after
she's the one that's mostly responsible for buzzing it down to begin with. |
