I attended
college in Buffalo NY. I lived near the Main Campus and got haircuts every
3 to 4 weeks or as my budget allowed. I used to go to many different shops
as I loved the haircut experience and was looking for just the right cut.
A short way down Niagara Falls Blvd there is a shop and I went there one
evening on my way home from class. I asked for the same style that I had
asked for at each of the other shops (tapered, parted in the center,
sideburns even with place they attach to head, and just over the ear) I
liked what the front and everything looked like, but when I went to class
the next day my friends asked if I was joining the Marines or something as
the back was so short. It was a great haircut though.
One place I hated was a place on Bailey Ave. near Main. The barber set up
shop in a house and was a gret guy to talk to. The problem is that he had
to terms that he understood for haircuts (shorter and closer) when he
meant shorter he meant he was going to go up higher on the head, to get a
short haircut you had to say closer. Well he gave me a haircut that wasn't
quite short enough so I asked for him to go shorter and I ended up with
the hair line being in the middle of my head (basically a low and tight)
so I had to have him cut the top into what is now called an Ivy
League or Ceasar cut.
