Guardless by Buzzcut Paper

He had a butch cut for some years now and kept it shaving once a month to a half inch. It was haircut day again, so he stood in the bathroom and started to trim his hair with the clippers one of his friends gave him as a birthday present. After about five minutes he was done, the same 1/2 inch buzzcut as always was back on top of his head.

After he removed the guard from the machine, he began to take off his chest hair. That was done quickly and he wiped down the cut off hair. The skin felt good. A shower should finally rinse the remaining cut hair off.

After showering, he still wasn't quite content. "Boring routine, always the same. Every month I shorten my hair to the exact same length. I want to try things out and experiment, I want to take risks.” he thought as he toweled himself.

He remembered how good his hairless chest felt on his fingers. Without thinking, he grabbed the, still plugged, clippers with no guard, turned them on and applied them on his scalp. He shaved back and forth until the whole head was only covered by very tight and stubbly hair. Looking at the change made him smile a little. He tried something new, he didn't went by his old pattern. He was almost bald ... and he liked it.

From this day on, he cut his hair every weekend. Every weekend, clippers without a guard would make him create his new image – being himself with the haircut he likes and giving a damn about other people's opinions.
