Aversion by Jerrod

I grew up with Andy. We both lived in the same town and were friends because our parent`s were close friends. We got along okay outside of school. But Andy just did not fit in with the crowd. I was what you could call a school jock, involved in the sports scene. I had no problems with finding dates.

Andy on the other hand was a real bookworm, preferring books to sports. He was you cold say nerdy always on the honor roll. Not that I was not a good student. For me I managed to maintain excellent grades. I was not an all A student like Andy. But did keep my grades.

Another thing about Andy was his hair. Unlike myself and others Andy wore his hair long really long. And he was tall and lanky. Only if he cut his hair and put on some weight.

It was in our freshman year of high school Andy decided to change. No not his hair. He just seemed to have an aversion to short hair, allowing his blonde hair to grow. Unknown to me or anyone he began working out with weights at a local gyym.

By the end of our sophomore year he had put on weight and was developing a great physique. He found he girls after him. We felt left out; Andy seemed to becoming the school stud. There he was good looking and now a body better than most of us.

I approached him about it one day and encouraged him to try sports. Andy just was not interested in sports. What he related to me was not what I expected. Andy in confidence told me he wanted to become a body builder.

I worked out myself and did not have his muscles. I wanted to work out with him but he refused. Andy wanted to do it his way and on his own.Okay with me. I just wondered why he was so relentless in it. And his hair was a sight falling well below his shoulders. Andy at sixteen had already a thick coat of thick blondish hair on his body.

Andy was changing and drifting away from everbody. He graduated with honors. After that I did not see Andy until my junior year of college. I had come home for a spring break. There was a letter from Andy.

I opened it and was surprised to learn that Andy had indeed reached his goal of being a body builder. He was a contender for the Northeast Competition and had sent me an invitation. I was eager to accept. And was even more surprised when he called.

Andy had come home for a few days. I was more interested in finding out if he still had all that hair versus his body. I soon found myself staring at the new Andy. His long hair was gone. Not just short all gone. It seems his trainer had suggested Andy shave off his body hair. Andy ended up taken it one step furthur and decided to shave his head.

He looked great with his well formed physique. And outstanding bald. Really something for somebody who had an aversion to short hair. It did not set with me when he made mention of my hair. You see my hair had begun to thin and I had been growing it long. Andy on the other hand informed me he still would have a full head of hair. But preferred to keep it shave by choice and to give him a more awesome definition. Which it did.

I did go to the meet. Andy placed 3rd. He really gave a good showing. As for me I was proud of him and told him so. I gave him credit. Especially for choosing to be bald. He urged me to give it a try rather than cover up my losing it.

I had an aversion to shaving my head as he had to short hair. Before I returned to college I decided to go to my local barber Dan. He was glad to see me. And mentioned my long hair right away. He remembered my short hair days. And commented no more flats. Even Dan himself had changed his style and now shaved his head.

As I got into the chair he remarked are you game for one like this. Pointing to his own shaved head. I wanted to say no. But Andy with his bald head flashed through my mind.

Before I knew it the clippers were buzzing and shearing me. Dan then took lather and smeared it all over my head and shaved it smooth. I found myself rubbing my hairless head and actually liking it. As I paid Dan said keep it. I recanted perhaps and left. My parent`s were not that thrilled. Oh well maybe I will decide once I get back to classes. I just wonder how they will respond to my bald head. And Andy what would he say. He was gone when I left. I will write him and send a picture of the new me.
