Tim and Karim: It feels right (Part 2) by GermanCut
"I want to experience your bald head", I heard Karim whispering in the darkness. He stroked my head with intense, alternating between being tender and rough. His face was close to mine, and I felt his breath on my neck. But then, however, it was as if my soul left my body, and I had a look from above at both of us Two heads which emerged out of the darkness by a mysterious source of light Karim's skull with dark short stubbles and beneath it my own head with a bright shining scalp, completely bald and smooth.
I woke up and opened my eyes. I touched my head expecting nothing but bare skin. I was surprised that I had hair.
I couldn't remember that I've ever had such an intense dream before. It was so real to be touched by him, his breath, his skin, his whispering voice
It was dark in my room, but outside the birds began to sing. I listened to them, trying to keep my dream in mind.
I fell asleep again. When I woke up, the sun was shining through the curtains.
I went down to the kitchen.
I noticed a piece of paper on the table with the handwriting of my mom
"Good morning, sleepyhead!
We didn't want to wake you up. We are going to visit now Marlies and Heinz. Maybe you'll join us later, if you want.
Mom and Dad"
Marlies and Heinz are an older couple in the neighborhood, and that day, it was Marlies' birthday. I sent a message to my mom, that I would drop by in the late afternoon to say "Happy birthday" to Marlies.
I had caf au lait, oats, biscuits and a pear for breakfast. After that, I cleaned up the kitchen.
I was glad to be alone. I wouldn't do anything today, because there was just too much disquiet inside me. The unrest let me walk through our small garden and the rooms of our house. I had a look at the bookshelf in the living room, where I discovered an old book, I had never noticed before. "Selected poems by Paul Heyse" "Paul who?" I wondered but then took the book with me into the garden.
I could hardly concentrate on reading. I always thought about what had happened last evening and about my dream at night.
"I want to experience your bald head." These words spoken by Karim appeared again and again.
"I want to experience But am I ready for this experience? To let Karim experience my head and more, and more of me?
Am I in love? In love with him?
I don't know. I only know that I never felt something so strong, that I never felt happier than now. But why does this happiness hurt so much and why my eyes are filling with tears once more?"
Those have been the stirring questions.
"What could you tell me, you strange old-fashioned guy from the 19th century?" I thought and finally wanted to put the book down. But then a sentence tied me up, and I couldn't stop reading.
"All meine Herzgedanken
sind immerdar bei dir
das ist das stille Kranken,
das innen zehrt an mir.
Seit du mich einst umfangen hast,
ist mir gewichen Ruh und Rast."
All the thoughts of my heart
Are forever with you
That is the silent illness
Which consumes me inside.
Since you once embraced me,
Peace and rest have left me
But that's me!" I constated. "It's exactly that what I feel! I would only choose other words, but surely not better ones."
Then I read the other stanzas
"Gott wolle die vereinen,
die freinander sind"
May God unite those
Who are meant for one another
Treuliebe steht in Himmelshut,
es wird ja alles, alles gut"
True love is in Heaven's keeping
Everything, everything shall still come out right
I sighed deeply and felt a tickle in my nose. I couldn't stop my tears flowing and I cried like a little child.
After I had calmed down, I took a picture of this poem and sent it to Karim.
"You know?" I added under the photo.
It lasted some minutes until his answer came.
"Yes, I know, but I haven't known this poem."
My tears began to flow again.
I looked up to the sky. The sun dried my cheeks.
Suddenly the mobile phone rang.
"Tim?" I heard Karim speaking, "It's me."
"Karim!" I cheered. "So kind that you phone me!" I think I've never said this before to anyone.
"I'm at my aunt and my uncle together with my parents and I've said that I felt a bit sick and that I wanted to make a walk. That was a pretext for talking to you without being disturbed, but it wasn't a lie. I really feel a bit sick because I've eaten too much. And furthermore, I feel this special kind of silent illness"
We remained silent, only hearing our breathings.
"It is so good to hear your voice", Karim said after a while. "I think, I've never said that before."
Silence.
"Shall we meet?" I asked.
"Oh yes", he answered.
"Maybe the day after tomorrow? I want to go to the barbershop before school starts on Wednesday, but after that, I'm free", I replied.
Karim said "If you don't mind, I'll go with you to the barber, because I really need a trim."
"I don't mind at all", I assured.
"I'm looking forward to it", he said.
"Me too", I finished our call.
I got into the hammock between our apple-trees and looked at the leaves above me. I dreamt of Karim while caressing my belly. Then my hand went a bit below.
"I want to experience" And I asked myself if I should do a favor to Karim at the barbershop and give him a visible evidence for my love.
