Lady barbers are gentle and thorough in their job from what I have experienced so suited for boys. Never seen a lady barber who has not shaved it down to the skin. Should a plumber have a higher pay ? by thadeusz @Carpaccio : I fully agree with you, but this is something that said, but never mentioned in writing, to potential candidates Legionnaires from the Pacific Islands which are part of France. The candidates learn that there trip was paid, and this represents a lot of money. But they only get that piece of information when they are already fully inducted !
Anyway, many of them want to go to mainland France and consider that 5 years in the Legion is not giving too much of their lives in order to be established in mainland France without a diploma. by thadeusz on 30 Dec 2023

One Happy Family by Alex Just came across this great story. It seems the desire to be bald transcends hair loss or no loss.
Looking back, I only wished that head shaves had taken place in my dorm. Back in the early 80’s we only really had Kodak and Yul as bald role models. I knew in college that I was glad to have ditched the long hair and gladly went and got severely short back and sides. During summer break I came home and let it grow. I remember coming back from summer break one year and asking the barber to go shorter and shorter. By the time he was done, most of my head was severely short stubble with just enough to comb in front. I got a lot of thumbs up from the military guys for this haircut. Looking back, I wished I had just had the whole head skinned! It took me many years to get the courage to get the top buzzed short. By the time I did, my hair was already on a fast retreat. Didn’t take long after that to let nature make the choice. I finally got the courage for the hairstyle (or lack there of) that I always wanted, a smooth shaved bald head.
If only I had had a bald role model (uncle, cousin, friend, etc) I would have gone for the shaved head much earlier on in life.
Now, bald is so mainstream. I see guys of all ages just as bald as I am. by Pauldy on 29 Dec 2023

El policía demuestra ser un hombre extremadamente autoritario que se alía con el padre del muchacho para someterlo y pelarlo como a un recluta, con un rigor extremo. ALWAYS A BUTCH by butchme It's interesting how, for some of us, having short hair imposed upon us trains us and indoctrinates the compulsion to have short hair into our psyches for life, while for others it does the complete opposite and results in rebellion. I'm definitely in the former category. My dad made me get a short Ivy or crewcuts throughout school. I was indifferent to them until high school, at which point I wanted to grow it out. Something about having been forced to have short hair when I wanted to grow it out made short hair just seem irresistible to me from then on. I've always had short hair since. by Buzz on 28 Dec 2023
PECADO DE SOBERBIA by Barbero Militar La tensión es extrema. Por lo que se nos cuenta en este relato el protagonista huyó de la autoridad paterna y prefirió ingresar en un seminario tradicionalista. Creo que no calculó bien lo que se le venía encima. El rector es un hombre temeroso de Dios dispuesto a imponer la disciplina más estricta, con una mentalidad casi medieval en materia de moral. El sometimiento es total; un corte de pelo de esas características, al cero, con coronilla de propina, es la mejor manera de abortar cualquier conato de modernidad. Frente a la rebeldía típica de la juventud, la mejor medicina es imponer el tradicionalismo religioso de carácter contrarevolucionario. Desde el punto de vista literario, la narración es magnífica. Reminds me of when I was taken for a haircut while we were on holiday in North Wales (very much against my will) to a barbers that was a combination of a newsagent's and men's hairdresser. If you had been forced to have a Butch? I don't think you would have wanted one. You might have hated it. Getting an unwanted cut, especially over several years, makes it a turn on now. This story is fiction. I had the forced Butch haircuts right up till 1970.

It's Time by SheShavedMe I asked my Wife 'You OK.if I get another head shave?'
She gave a little laugh 'Yes, if that's what you want, but on these conditions.
1. When you say 'shaved' that's what it'll be, total shave. Bald, smooth like an egg.
2. You keep it smooth for a calendar month! No rough bits, shaved daily , twice a day if required I don't want to feel any bristles.
3. I make the final decision after a month, you'll either be permanently bald, hairless, or you grow it until I decide you get a haircut.
4. Give me a yes or no now, and then we never discuss this again.

ALWAYS A BUTCH by butchme I never got a butch but now wish my father had made me get that instead of just the skinned back and sides (I loved the feel of the sandpaper that was left after these cuts). Had I gotten a full on butch, I know I would have loved it even more. Unfortunately the 70’s hair and my big pointed ears forced me into growing my hair. Looking back now, had I been given a butch cut even once, I would have requested that as my haircut from then on. Only in later years did I try the full on butch. By then my hair was rapidly headed for the hills. At that point I was feeling bold enough that only a shaved head would do! A butch really is a great haircut. Vor allem der 3 Teil hat mir sehr gefallen, als ich las wie schnell sich die beiden Väter über die super kurz geschorenen Haarschnitte einig gewesen warend und streng darauf achten, dass ihre Söhne auch weiterhin regelmäßig so super kurz geschoren werden.
Das Lesen machte große Freude. Vielen Dank fürs teilen.
