Back in the days when I still had hair, but wanted it cut extremely short, I would have loved to have found a barber like this. I tried so many barbers. If they pushed back when I asked for it to be really short, I went on to the next barber.
Finally I found an ex military barber who cut it as short as I asked without pushback.
I don’t know why, but I enjoyed being the guy others nervously looked at as I got most of my hair shaved off. To this day, I like going in for my headshave, watching others reactions, especially the guys who are naturally about as bald as I am, but too afraid to shave completely bald. by Pauldy on 22 Oct 2023

The buildup of wanting a shaved head vs "what will people think ". We all experience that.
My first headshave came about so unexpectedly that I really wasn’t prepared to show the world. I wore hats about 95% of the time (I hate wearing hats).
My next go at a headshave, I had it done right before boarding a plane for a two week vacation. This time I didn’t do a full shave and got an 0A. I found myself wanting to take the razor to it but it was too long to shave;(
A couple more headshaves spread apart by several months and at this point, father nature had made my flattop unworkable ((almost no hair at the front to work with). A couple really short buzz all over and I finally got up the nerve to go with what I wanted all along: a smooth bald head! It felt so great and I got lots of compliments.

La barbería de Clemente 12 by BARBERO MILITAR Gran fuerza dramática tiene este capítulo del gran relato de Clemente, el barbero inclemente. El nerviosismo del protagonista, sabedor de lo que se le viene encima, está perfectamente descrito. Me imagino como sería aquel lóbrego pasadizo, estrecho y sin salida, envuelto en sombras. Tampoco el protagonista tenía ninguna salida y se tendría que someter a la voluntad de su padre y ser despojado, sin ningún miramiento, de su juvenil cabellera. Ya no eran los demás las víctimas del barbero, ahora le tocaba a él, en primera persona, caer en sus manos. From curls to bald by emilio When I was 19 I was already heavily balding and as at much as at the time that I’d definitely had somewhat of a fetish about it I was still deeply in the closet about the fetish and incredibly scared and insecure about being the only guy I knew that was going bald…had no bald family members either….and the girl I was seeing talked me into letting her buzz my hair off down to a zero guard and after she was done my baldness looked even worse because the horseshoe was now on full display and at first glance I’d pretty much looked completely bald on top with just stubble around the sides….this was the early 90’s when you still hid your baldness and I was so scared and pissed at her for doing that to me as it wasn’t the thing to do back then etc and I ended up actually breaking up with her shortly afterwards because I couldn’t get past the anger and frustration that she’d caused me by Bald too soon on 19 Oct 2023

Time to embrace short hair. We are all self conscious when we first make a big change. I was extremely self conscious when I first shaved my head and even let it grow for a few days when seeing old friends. Now i am happy to show off my smooth bald head.

Me imagino que estos chavales, al ser tan jovencitos e inexpertos, utilizarían un lenguaje muy sencillo para describir los brotados pelados del barbero Clemente. Da la sensación de que el adulto que ha publicado este relato, dividido en capítulos, tiene un manejo magistral de la lengua española, así como una mente analítica gran rigor expositivo. También hubiera sido muy morboso que el barbero hubiera dado alcance a los chavales, cuando huían, hubiera llamado a sus padres y como castigo los hubiera rapado como a dos reclutas. Although I started life with what would be called short back and sides (not familiar with that term in N America), I was given the same thing but never any goop in the hair at the end.(I would say not so common here). Instead my hair in front did its own thing. As much as my mother bugged me to constantly comb my hair, I wish they had just given me a buzz cut: would have been much easier. The goop doesn’t sound fun.
