I too played around with my hair finally coming to terms in 1999 with the fact that a shaved head was my only option (too much hair loss on top to try and keep the extremely short flattop).
I had had my head shaved a couple times previously but was too chicken (or boyfriend "didnt want to make love to Mr Clean").
Finally once I made the decision that shaved head was now my permanent "hairstyle", my only regret was I hadn’t skipped all the flattops and buzz cuts and became a baldy years earlier.
I got lots of positive comments on my bald head which made me realise I should have gone baldy when I quit my corporate job(at the time).
Fortunately now, a shaved head works in all situations.
I often see guys with very thin hair trying to hold on to the little that’s left. I want to go tell them to help themselves, and their self confidence and get rid of the few bits that are left. I guess you could now call me a bald disciple! by Pauldy on 14 Jul 2023
Michael’s Mother Knows Best by Ashton Wow that was a very intense story! I've never read a story quite like that. Michael's mother turned out to be very dominant making sure not only her sons are bald, but also shaving her husband bald as well. I think it was very harsh for her to do that, but by your description of Michael's hair he was definitely overdue for a haircut. I hope you continue this story. Michael’s Mother Knows Best by Ashton Interesting story and well written. It sounds like "Mommy Dearest" might have been sent home on "gardening leave" (terminal burnout). I mean, OK, you turned the boys over to your husband and you came home so manic that he couldn't even stop you from scalping him. I am not sure a professional woman in her right mind would have shaved her husband and sons' heads to make them "look like men." But, it works in your story. by Deke Cutter on 13 Jul 2023

brother with a clipper shaved head, whose dad is a marine. I think it would be fun to see the characters interact and how much they learn and rub off on his each other. Sergeant’s by Linus Take control, no nonsense male barbers are the best!
The first time I meekly said "flattop please", my barber wasted no time in skinning the back and sides to a 00000. I wasn’t sure if that was more of a shock or the fact I barely had any stubble on the top. The barber made a comment about the next time and I said "if I do it again". The barber said you will and it will look even better! I went back two weeks later and he was right, it did look even better (it was actually even shorter on the top!). This no nonsense barber got me over my fear of having a mostly bald head.

We get so nervous about the reactions from others, when in fact usually the comments are all positive.
Doing this is a real courage and self esteem builder.
Hopefully the parents are cool with it (dads usually are more so). It’s tougher for moms to accept that their little boy is now a baldy. They soon adjust.
