The Long-Haired Customer by Deke Cutter Oh the battles we went through as young boys and our hair. The hair gets cut too short and we shed tears. Then we get to late teens, early 20’s and realise it was all for nothing. Conformity was still somewhat strong but the temptation to go shorter wasn’t an issue anymore. For years I got teased about my big, funny shaped ears. Come college, I went shorter and no one commented negatively. In fact, I found myself with a haircut comparable to the guys in ROTC. I knew then, I’d never go back. I always said once my hair started coming off, it would all eventually go away. That has certainly been the truth!
Love these look back down memory lane type stories of guys afraid of short haircuts. Fortunately, I don’t think the short hair stigma exists anymore. I only regret that as a boy, I didn’t ask for a buzz cut. The idea of hair so short that there’s nothing to comb, I think I would have been hooked early on. My only other regret is not shaving my head earlier on.

I liked that priest struck up a normal friendship with a new parishioner. Unlike another commenter, I hope the priest stays true to his vows/Holy Orders. Even with all the terrible abuse history, the vast majority of priests, religious sisters, monks, and nuns do stay true to their vows. I would hope that should this priest find he was in love with anyone of either gender, he would first seek dispensation from his vows before acting on it. The flattop is such a game changer haircut and not for the cowardly. It is only beaten in severity by a completely bald shaved head.
Took me a while to work up the nerve for a flattop. When I did it was a long one. Didn’t work well with my extremely fine hair. So two days later, went to another barber and got about the most severe flattop you can get. Loved it but fine hair doesn’t work well with it( constant maintenance). Finally father nature gave me his full sentence and flattop was no longer feasible. Fortunately I had built up the courage by then to go full on headshave. But I digress….
I predict Henry will grow to love the flattop just like he will love his new hometown.

The Road Trip & The Barbershop Showdown by ShaggyDS Sam made the right move by getting brutally sheared. When it comes to hair on a male, the shorter the better! Sam should enjoy this haircut as the maintenance is very minimal. Back in the chair every two weeks and he’ll appreciate the ease of such a short cut.
Only way to go shorter is a full head shave. It’s quite a bit more maintenance but well worth it.

aprendizaje by esquivo Me gusta mucho el estilo directo del relato. Es de gran originalidad que el protagonista sea el padre del muchacho, o sea el verdugo. Es una historia simple, en la que el narrador va al grano, no se pierde en detalles. Los argentinismos que se emplean le confieren una mayor credibilidad al asunto. El chaval no tiene otra alternativa que obedecer a su padre y poco a poco las aguas volverán a su cauce. En el fondo, a todos los que nos interesan los cortes de pelo disciplinarios hemos tenido padres más o menos autoritarios que en un momento dado nos han impuesto un pelado a maquinilla.
