There is nowhere on this site that dictates the maximum length a story can have, and so what if it is long, hm? There are people who enjoy the longer format and crave the detail Jaimie offers in each of their stories. And there are people who -I'm assuming like you- who would rather have short events that get straight to the point with the barest minimum of narrative. But to come out here and complain about a story which was clearly not in your palette is completely immature. And yes, I do mean complain. Summer Vacation by Shant Anon, I agree with you that the guys certainly had the option of going to the cops. Being in a rather redneck area of the country, and especially with the Rebel flag hanging on the wall, I figured the cops would not be on their side and they would just be wasting their time. This is a stereotypical reaction of the rural south, and of course, does not apply to everyone in the area. Thanks for commenting. I always look forward to hearing what you think of my stories. LA FRATERNIDAD by BARBERO MILITAR Es una historia de intriga escrita con una maestría excepcional. No se narra simplemente un rapado brutal, se llega mucho más lejos. Se nos cuenta una historia de espías, de una secta ultraconservadora que está dispuesta a actuar para cambiar el mundo actual, para transformarlo según unos principios morales irrenunciables. Todo está perfectamente hilvanado, la trama es perfecta. La calidad literaria de este relato contrasta con los bodrios que se suelen publicar en esta página. Creo que el autor debe ser un profesor de literatura o un escritor con muchos libros publicados. Es una pena que la historia no continúe. Si sucedió en la realidad, al protagonista del relato se le quedaría un recuerdo eterno, de los que no se borran jamás. El autoritarismo está presente en cada línea de este escrito. Aquel policía, evidentemente, transpiraba autoritarismo en cada uno de los poros de su piel. Encontró la horma de su zapato, un joven humilde que preparaba oposiciones y que se somete mansamente a todas las vejaciones. Prisión de Alta Seguridad. El alcaide by BARBERO MILITAR Me encanta este capítulo que, al parecer, forma parte de un relato más largo. Don Augusto era evidentemente un hombre de ideas totalitarias. La solución que tenía para los presos era someterlos, negarles cualquier atisbo de libertad, convertirlos en mansos corderos. En el fondo, el protagonista se convertirá en un sumiso sometido, incapaz de tomar sus propias decisiones. En las películas americanas se refieren a esta situación con el término de institucionalización. Jamás volverá a ser un hombre libre. Como no podía ser de otra forma, le van a rapar al cero. Al parecer a los presos no se les podía obligar pero esto era sólo en el plano teórico. Estoy convencido de que al pobre Santiago le van a dejar la cabeza esférica. A Single Silver Strand by Manny Whoa!! This story is so amazing. I love the details of losing the long hair to the balding clippers. @Manny, you put such realistic detail in your stories.
It is funny how so many of us went from nervous on the first cut to throwing caution to the wind after that and really going as short as possible. I have known several guys (my ex brother in law included), who watched me shave my head for years and then finally succumbed to an ultra short haircut (or head shave) themselves.
Your stories continue to entertain with the realistic nature they portray.
I only wish I got to watch some of these makeovers in real life. Unfortunately when I go, the only one getting the extreme haircut is me getting my head shaved. It’s definitely fun watching others hair getting peeled off.

A Young Telly Savalas by MattM I remember how shocked people were when Telly, who was a character actor in Hollywood for years, emerged in the "Kojak" role. I remember reading he had shaved his head for a specific role and decided it was easier to maintain as he was already balding pretty well at the time. He sometimes wore toups for roles, as he did when he did an episode of "The Fugitive," It was a big stink for some when he mentioned during the "Kojak" days he was living with a woman. A crazy woman called a radio talk show and told the host that "TERRY SAVALASS' was a Communist because he was "bald like (the Soviet leader) Kruschchev" and "lived in sin." Telly ruled. A Young Telly Savalas by MattM My real name is close to Telly and when I was a boy his show became a success. My Dad would tease me by asking if I wanted to look like him. I was around 6 so said no but I did think his totally bald head looked handsome and cool. A Young Telly Savalas by MattM What a great story i loved it,I also never had the balls as a boy to go and have my hair shaved off like the Kojak style?. I loved that show, grew up in the 1960's and 1970's, my hair was always cut short back and sides as a boy, some times weekly and other times every 2 weeks or so, some off the kids called it the pee-pot style in school, I was always okay with it and liked the shorter length i had it cut like that intil i went to the army, there our 1sr haircut was short back and sides clipper shaved, but there was a time that I wanted my hair cut in a square cut like the other boys in my class when I turn 18, I have a haircut fatish and so I always looked how the barber cuts the other boys and mens hair, one day when I was about 14 a few days after my haircut I took my dad's razor and shaved my sides and back my mother saw I had shaved my sides and back and ask me why I had shaved it I did not know what to say so I just sed I didn't know why, i yust wanted to feel how it feels when it is shaved with a razor to when it's cut by clipper, between 2000 and 2005 I shaved all my hair off, I loved the shaved head style and the smooth head feeling, i shaved it every day sometimes in the morning and evening, at times i got bit lazy and left it to grow a bit yust to go back to the barber's and ask for a head shave they always did it only with clipper what a feeling when my head was smooth, at times i will leaf it and let it grow for a week or so and then go back to the barber's and have them cut it with a no2 6mm sides/back and the top to a no6 20mm or I would ask the barber to shave my sides and cut the top in a short tables top, I was never the buzz cut type of guy although I had a few buzz cuts in my life. for the last 8 or 9 years I have my hair cut in a low, mid or high fade and then at times I had my sides and back shaved like a high and tight with the top cut with a no5 15mm to the crown area and the fringe cut longer,I where my hair cut short with a shaved part comb to the side with a comb over fringe... would not mind now to have my hair all shaved off in a skinhead style is there eny one who needs to get rid of there ' hair I will cut and shaved it all off you will have no say, you will then be a real boldy... your hart will skip a beat while you're head will be nice and smoooooooooooooth...oooha come to PAPPA PAPPA WILL AND SHALL BE HERE AS YOUR BARBER by Skin fade on 10 Sep 2024
My first perm by Washfetish My first experience of seeing a perm being done was on my sister when we were both in our early teens.
Our mother had booked us both in to get our hair sorted ahead of returning to school after the end of the summer holidays.
We used to go to a shop that had 2 separate sides to it. One side was a barbershop with 3 chairs, a bench behind where you sat to wait your turn and basins in front of each chair below the large mirrors
The other side of the shop was a ladies hairdressers also with 3 chairs and another type of chair with a basin behind it.
Whenever we used to go to get our hair cut, I would usually end up being finished first, so go next door and wait for my sister and mum to be finished often wondering what it would be like to get my hair cut in that side of the shop.
On this occasion, I sat waiting my turn in the barber side and my sister went next door to the salon. The barbers was fairly busy with 2 other lads waiting before me and only 1 barber working. I didn’t mind waiting here as I knew my sister would be a whole next door, saving me some embarrassment of having to wait in the salon after I’d been finished with in the barbers.
To my surprise, my sister walked into the barbers with her hairdresser and was told to sit up in one of the empty big barber chairs. Evidently the salon was too busy next door for what my sister was wanting to have done.
I watched with awe to what began to happen in front of me to my sister.
The hairdresser put a towel over her shoulders, followed by a large blue plastic cape that covered her and the chair completely. She looked very nervous. By this time my mother came into the shop and sat beside me. I asked what was going to happen to my sister Ellie and she explained Ellie was going to have her hair permed.
From there, my Ellie’s chair was turned to face us and she looked terrified. The hairdresser lowered the back of the chair and guided her to lean back into the sink now behind her.
Ellie’s hair was washed and then she was returned to upright, by now she was smiling at mom and I as she caught us looking at her. The hairdresser turned the chair back so she was facing the mirror from where Ellie could see us looking at her and her nervously looking back at us.
The hairdresser then started to wind loads of little blue and red rods into her hair.
By this time it was my turn to have my haircut.
Usually I would just have a scissor cut, but on this occasion, Ellie spoke across to me and the barber saying did I want what she was having. A swift no from me put an end to that. Our mother intervened and asked the barber to wash my hair before cutting it. I’d never had that done before and was fairly scared of the thought. But if my sister had just had her hair washed and came up smiling, I suppose I should give it a try.
The barber placed a similar large plastic cape over me and turned the chair so I could lean back into the basin. It felt great to have my hair massaged and the huge xape felt wonderful as well.
After the wash, I was sat up and turned to face the mirror again. From here I could see Ellie had a head full of rods and the hairdresser was pouring a smelly liquid all over them. She commented how bad it was smelling
My haircut continued and once finished, I sat back on the bench next to my mum to watch the rest of Ellie’s perm experience. It was fascinating even though it took ages. Other lads in the shop were surprised to see a girl in there but also intrigued to know what was going on. Ellie had drawn quite and audience.
After what seemed an age of Ellie being turned back and forth, rinsing, more lotions, more rinsing, changing of towels and capes, she was eventually dried and shown her newly made curls in the mirror.
Mum was delighted with her new look and I was very taken with being able to see most of this new process that I would never have seen before. It gave me quite a tingle I’d never experienced before.
Ellie and I spoke on many occasions about her perm adventure and even she admitted a tingle she’d never had before.
As we have grown older and gone our separate ways, we often reminisce of that experience. Ellie has had many perms since, albeit in hair salons and I’ve had my hair washed at barbers and salons over the years and loved every occasion

A Long Day (1) by Boi I too have a hair fetish for thick straight hair and a wonderful long top. Enjoy reading when the hair is combed down over the face. Always sad when it actually gets cut. I have nice healthy thick straight hair with a long forelock that combs down to my chin. When I get a trim, my barber combs my top hair straight down over my face and I sit there knowing other guys are looking at my hair. My barber loves a long top and has so much fun playing with my hair. Even had one guy waiting for a haircut ask me if he could comb my hair. A Young Telly Savalas by MattM I am jealous of you having the balls to get your head shaved back then. I never even got a crew or buzz cut until the mid 90’s.
I don’t think my parents would have cared as my dad had been in the military and my uncle(mom’s brother) I am told , asked for, and kept his head shaved growing up on the farm.
Unfortunately I had the stigma of big pointed ears and everyone (maybe except me) knew I was gay. Needless to say I hid behind relatively long hair (my mom never let me grow it long like most guys in late 70’s and 80’s.
It wasn’t until college that I discovered that I wouldn’t get teased anymore about these things. I always knew that once my hair started going short, I would eventually end up with a bald head.
Had I shaved it at that age, I doubt I would have ever grown it back.
Please tell us what happened when you went to college…. Hopefully you have stayed a baldy since then. by Paul’s on 09 Sep 2024
