Zero: Don't worry, Rah's hair grows like the rest of us, so it can't stay nice and smooth very long, now can it? Food for thought... The ending of this chapter will certainly be addressed, don't kid yourself.
Jamie: The conflict is certainly not over or addressed properly yet, so we have plenty of emotional development yet, for both Aden and Rah. We have lots of things to see and to learn from those nine other subs after all.
Anon: Thank you! Getting characters to feel different from one another and making them feel human is one of the things I try hard to convey in my writing, and I'm glad you think I'm good at it. And yes, I'm quite excited to get to do a load of different transformations, it's going to be fun!
Stache: I'm not very big on facial hair (if that hasn't been evident from my previous works), though you might find yourself excited for one of the boys in particular. Barbershop Tester by Tim I did the different barber thing with flattops. I probably did 15. Some were really bad. One lady used shaving cream to stand it up. She was the worst. The others were bad. My younger barber was very good along with an older guy. They always turned the chair so you couldn't see. The first time my younger barber took of a huge amount. I had longer hair than I'd ever had. I always took in a picture. I always wanted it shorter. They wouldn't do it. Once I got an accidental high and tight. That was short! Kept the flats for years. by Butchme on 06 Dec 2024
Like father like son by Sean Barnet I still remember the feeling I had when I asked for a short back and sides at age 15 in 1978. Your stories are so evocative. As you wrote "I knew that I would have to say those four awful words "Short back and sides", four words that gave the barber freedom to do his worst." Bikes, Bros and Buzzcuts - Part 2 by Drew Tetrov Cool story of buzzed brotherhood. Hopefully these two are hooked now and never bother to let their hair grow out again. Maybe by summer, a 6mm looks long and they ditch the guard all together.

Trying it shorter by MarcustheBald16 Story may not be true but the difference between a buzz cut and a bald shaved head is tremendous.once you get used to having a shaved head, having ANY hair feels awful. Nothing feels better than rubbing my head when it has just been freshly shaved. 25 plus years of head shaving and I only wish I had the courage to have shaved it earlier on. by Pauldy on 05 Dec 2024

I really didn't write this story with an intentional sexual slant to it, although I can easily see how someone could read that into it. Well done on capturing the reader's attention, and capturing the sensuality and danger of a relationship such as this in the time period present in this work. Ethan Goes Against the Grain by BarberedStrong What a great story on a young guy going for one of the greatest haircuts for men - horseshoe flattops. I used to have a flattop or crewcut before I decided to keep my head shaved bald, which is what I truly want. I can relate to many parts of this story, including the "underwhelming" response from others. This is a cut you have to be dedicated to, because it is different. It can be challenging to find a barbers who can do a good flattop. That said, a confident, masculine guy with a sharp flattop definitely captures my attention and shows that he is his own person despite the current trends! by KH on 03 Dec 2024

Butch Again II by Butchme I had much the opposite experience i the 1960s. I really wanted a flattop, but my parents said I was "too young, wait until high school." The Beatles arrived and I grew my hair like everyone else, but still craved a flattop. My last day in Junior High was June of 1968, and I rushed to the barbershop to get my California surfer mop machined into a short classic flat. I kept getting flats util I graduated from high school in 1972 with the last crewcut of any sort in the building except for our ex-USMC vice-principal with his fresh every Thursday HNT horseshoe. by Will on 02 Dec 2024

Ethan Goes Against the Grain by BarberedStrong Great story! Fiction or not it spoke to me. I wanted to get a flattop my entire life but I didn't have the confidence to pull the trigger until I was in my late thirties and even then my barber tried to dissuade me. He used a 3.5 on the sides that wasn't as short as I wanted, but the shop was extremely busy and people were stacked up so I didn't raise a stink. I was surprised that my barber didn't give me a traditional flat. It was an old school shop and the four barbers had probably been cutting since the sixties.
At any rate, about 15 years later my graying hair began to recede and I took the plunge and shaved my head. I love how it looks and feels and wish I had done it sooner.
If I still had hair I would be sporting an extreme high and tight flat but since I don't have that choice I have the next best thing.
