I really agree with GK's comments, I was the quiet submissive boy who secretly always hoped he would get the strict barber who always took more hair than the other barbers. You had to live in the seventies to understand what it was like...you guys who knock the authors and their followers who write about that era need to respect other peoples feelings and their right to express what they felt then and think about now.

Your survey is missing one very important question and the reason i beleive a haircut fetish develops. Which is .In what era where you born ?. I have noticed that nearly all the storys regarding boys being given unwanted forced, very short haircuts are written by men born around the late 50's to mid 60's meaning they were around 10 to 15 years old by the late 60's to mid 70's when long hair was all the fashion and all young boys and teenagers wanted long hair just like the pop stars of the day , a well mannered,respectful obeidient, boy on one side and the strict no nonsense father and barber on the other , if you're a submissive you can identify with the boy , if power and control's your thing , you got the authoritarian parent and barber . The classic fantasy fetish , but dying out as very short haircuts are now fashionable and what boys want, so, no victim no fantasy.

2] At one point in my teens I used a buzzcut, then regular haircut. I was forced to cut my hair. But after a few changes I was able to use my hair as I wanted, so I let it grow.

1. fairly relaxed but i'd get a haircut every two or so months I'd say
2. fairly relaxed but they would complain when it got too long, but I was busy with school and sports so couldn't always make a haircut
3. in my twenties i took full control of my haircuts, didn't go to the same place anymore and found my own style and even a shop out by university
4. it was a modern unisex barbershop and i was cut by the same woman all the time
5. same as above, except the one time she wasn't there and i let one of the guys cut it and it wasn't my normal haircut when I walked out that day...

Always cut every other Saturday at the same barber. No guard-a zero. If I’m in trouble I get shaved bald. Only cut I’ve ever had. I’m seventeen and dad says I will have it this way until I finish college.

From the 11 results from my recent survey, there are some interesting observations..
It seems that up to the age of 10, most of us, including me, did not like getting our haircut, had to have short back and sides and went to a traditional barber shop. Two of us had to have short Princetons, one, buzzed to a #2, and one who was lucky enough to be in a household where there were relaxed rules about how he had his hair.
As we become of teenagers, more of us had more relaxed rules over our hair. Two did still have to keep their short back and sides, this included me as school rules meant I had to.. Not a problem though, as I liked going for my haircut, and most here as teenagers, did too, although just under half, again including me, kept this liking hidden - Most also continued going to a traditional barber shop as teenagers. (For me, the traditional barber shop came to the school) In our twenties, generally having the right to choose for ourselves, the relaxed ruling over our hair continued, three still required to have short back and sides though.
The vast majority of us like going for our haircuts, only one feeling differently. After school, I had a short rebellious period, where I let it grow, but really, I also liked my haircuts, and soon returned to having it shorter again.
A slight majority of us have had a secret desire to have our hair cut much shorter than we normally have it, or people know us for. This is a desire, at times, I have shared.
But what do we actually have now? Well, three of us have #1, and one #2.5 back and sides (a bit longer on top). That's me! - although I'm considering going shorter. Two of us are shaved (I've had mine shaved before) , two have Horseshoe Flat tops and one has it long.
Would people like a further, or more surveys? Can put here and on the Facebook group, and combine the results.

1.Dad made me get a short princeton 2.Dad let it get a little longer on top but still clipped short on the sides 3.In college it was still an issue and occasionally Dad forced me to cut it short 4. Traditional 1 chair barbershop; Dad did not accompany me but barber had strict instructions on how hair was to be cut 5. To save money I was sent to a barber's college, maybe 2 dozen chairs, very old fashioned 6. Never, completely dreaded it to the point of getting sick 7. It was 1967 and everyone was growing their hair long so I was uncomfortable going 8.Yes 9. That's when my fantasies about forced military haircuts began but I definitely did not act on them and continued to dread haircut day 10.Definitely 11. 1. I had regular short back and sides, but I don't think my parents gave a s**t about it, that's just the way things were back in the 60s. 2. They were fairly relaxed about it. 3. They were still fairly relaxed about it. 4. I went to a tradition barber under the age of 10. 5. I went to the same barber, but he went back to barber school and learned about styling and started offering longer hairstyles (for which he charged more). 6. I did not like getting haircuts. I would frequently get nicks and kind of a rash from the clippers. The itch from the fallen hair was horrible. 7. I still did not like it very much. 8. I like it pretty much now, I like the feeling of transformation, like I'm turning into a different person. 9. No, as a teenager i did not like it. 10. I have had the secret desire to have my head shaved. 11. No, I don't have any clippers. 12. What hair I have left I usually have buzzed to a number 1 all over.
