Troy Takes it to the Next Level by burrlypup

Imagine a time, maybe twenty years ago when shaving your head wasn't as popular as it is today.

Troy wanted to be an Olympic swimmer since he was five, and after a decade he was well on his way. Age 20, he was very fit, but for a swimmer, he had a thick man body covered in fur. He was one of those swimmers who never shaved down.Yet, he still handled his relays as a stealthy hairless man would. While few commentators would talk about him ‘tackling’ his swim times, he began to gain an internet following based on an aspect of his appearance – his hair. It was often kept in a braid halfway down his back, but for a mens sports magazine, he let it down and since then he was ‘that dude with the hair’ rather than a swimmer. It slowly ate away at his confidence but he kept beating his own times and without shaving down.

During the next meet, he strove for perfection and finally took the top prize – a spot on the mens Olympic gymnast team. It was finally his time to shine and he began working on a regimen to help him win gold. Over the next few months, he spent every day conditioning his muscles and improving his strength and flexibility. His physique became more lean and muscular, no more belly. He was ready.
During the opening ceremonies, he wore his hair down and the national attention garnered him offers from shampoo companies to sponsor him. Most wanted to exploit his charming good looks and gorgeous hair, except for one: one of the major razor companies. Two million dollars for a 30 second commercial spot. Troy was floored! He immediately agreed to the terms.

Early the next morning, he was at a video shoot with twenty or so handlers, cameramen – all focused around a highly sophisticated locker room sink with clippers plugged in.When he met up with the creative team and the general theme was to shave his body down, a first for him. Once the cameras were rolling, he stepped in front of a lit mirror and stroked his hairy chest. In the next shot, he was shaving it. After a few takes of him stroking the razor against his chest, legs and arms, a personal groomer was called in to shave Troy from the neck down. It took about an hour, but when it was over his whole body was completely smooth. Troy couldn't believe how good it felt. The cameras rolled as Troy smiled and rubbed his chest, then up at the camera. For two hours of work, he earned two million dollars, and the best was yet to come.

A day later, Troy won his first gold medal, and the next he won another, breaking a record for the fastest backstroke and breaststroke, five whole body lengths ahead of his next competitor. Shaving his body seemed to have a greater effect than he could have ever imagined! Most importantly, the media wasn't as focused on his hair anymore, but his swimming ability. He felt invincible. Many companies were now seeking to sponsor Troy now, he was a gold medalist and still had five events left and fierce competition. His next race, he swam faster than he had during trials, but his leads were diminishing. His new goal was to win seven gold medals.

After his fourth win, The razor company called him back for a new shoot. The body shaving commercial had aired during his events, adding to his appeal as an athlete who did whatever was necessary to win. While discussing new ideas for the new commercial, one of the creative team members asked, "How do you feel about shaving your head?"

Troy smiled and said, "Let's do it!" The whole team was surprised, but soon a concept was written up and some mean looking hair clippers were placed in his hands as he stood in front of the sink wearing nothing but a pair of Speedos. Troy felt so powerful as he held the vibrating clippers. He reasoned that if he swam as fast as he did with his long hair, how fast would he swim completely bald? A camera captured Troy staring straight ahead and then panned to the clippers in his fist. After a moment and a deep breath, Troy brought the bare clippers to his forehead and pushed back, releasing a torrent of his dark blond hair to this should and then the sink. Again he thrust the clippers into his hair, sending more hair to the floor. A second and third camera captured him shearing over his ears and the back of his head, then the director yelled cut. While the crew prepared for the shower scene, Troy sat down as a barber finished clipping all of his hair down with t-edgers. Troy couldn't believe how light his head felt - or how different he looked!

For the shower scene, Troy braced himself against the gym wall as the steaming water gushed down on him. In the next sequence, he shot shaving cream into his hand and rubbed it all over his head, followed by the obligatory straight on close up of him pulling the razor down the middle of his head, revealing a pink, smooth scalp. Filming continued as Troy shaved his head from every angle. When filming stopped, the barber stepped in to finish the shave but Troy had gotten every last rough patch. His Speedos failed to hide his excitement down below as he rubbed his bald head for the first time. The final scene consisted of Troy rushed cool water over his smooth scalp before putting on his swim goggles and jumping into a training pool. His last duty was to record a dramatic voice over that would play during the commercial as he shaved his head. His fans were in for a huge surprise.

At his next event, the media went nuts when Troy whipped a towel off his completely bald head, revealing his new look. He smiled at the cameras and competitors as he took his place. When the starting signal sounded, he bounded off the platform and into the water. Without his hair or the cumbersome swimcap he often wore, he glided through the water like a fish. Once again, he won another gold and broke a record that had stood for more than twenty years.

A week later, Troy stood on the podium with his seventh gold medal, shining almost as brightly as his bald head. That evening, before going out and partying with the rest of the swimmers, Troy went into his hotel bathroom, lathered up his head and shaved it smooth for the first time without cameras rolling. Once his head was smooth as glass, he walked over to the hotel bar just as his new commercial played. It was the first time he had seen it and he couldn't believe the difference. He looked handsome with the long hair, but the bald head felt and looked like him. His team mates arrived and all five shaved their heads completely smooth as well, as they had events left. Soon after these games, it became the norm for swimmers to shave their heads before competitions and now Troy often smiles when he sees the freshly shaved white scalps of the new generation of swimmers he now coaches.
