The barber's hairstyle by Storyteller

WARNING:
This story is in the same style as the others I usually submit here. So, if you expect something different, you will be disappointed.

I grew up in Brazil in the 70's and 80's. The fashion for boys was long hair. During my childhood and part of my teenage I used to go to a barbershop that was close to my house where only one barber worked, he was a man in his sixties and he cut my hair the way I liked it, always leaving my huge ears covered and hair reaching down past my collar.

At one point, I found out another barber who was even a little older, but who had long, fashionable hair. In addition to his long hair, he had a full beard. I started going to this barbershop because I thought he would never want to cut my hair short, and he gave me the same cut I got at the other barbershop.

After three haircuts with him, I decided that the next cut I would ask him to give me the same haircut he had, because besides being long, it was more stylish than the way I got it cut usually. So, after the winter and about 4 months without going to the barbershop, I decided that I would ask to have my hair cut just like his.

I went to the barbershop, entered and said "Good afternoon, Sir", and then I realized that the barber was not there, he replied from the back of the barbershop "Good afternoon, son, I will be with you soon". I said, "Can I go sit on the chair, Sir?" and he said "Yes, of course, son". I sat down and told him "Today, I'd like to get a haircut just like yours, Sir" and he said "Oh, that's cool!" and added "I'm already going".

He then reached behind the chair, spun it around and wrapped the cape around me. I didn't get to see him. He then immediately, with clippers in hand, began to run the clippers over the top of my head. I almost fainted. Meanwhile, he said: "You know, son, it was really good that I was able to go back to the haircut that I like after that promise I made, to grow my hair and a beard." At this point, he was already in front of me and I saw that his hair was extremely short and his beard had become a well-trimmed mustache. And he continued "I'm glad you liked it and wanted the same cut"

I was silent, not knowing what to say, I just smiled. He kept using the clippers, which I could see that had the #1 blade on. He was quickly running the clippers like that all over my head. Moving my head this way and that. Folding my ear to run the clippers around it. I just heard the noise, felt the vibration and the metal and saw a lot of hair falling out.

After running them all over my head, he turned off the clippers and hung them on a hook on the wall. He then took a shaving brush and a bowl with shaving soap and warm water and started to prepare lather, he prepared a huge amount, and a very good smell was in the air.

He took the shaving brush and started to spread the lather all over the back and sides of my head. Then he took a blade, sharpened it well, on the leather strap beside the chair and said "Stay very still, son" and began to shave all the hair from the sides and back.

The blade scraping was the only sound in the barbershop and I was there, motionless, silent, stunned. He did the job carefully and firmly and made my head in that area totally smooth.
He then took a piece of cloth and removed the excess foam that was still on my head and after that, he applied an aftershave, I felt a slight sting.

He then took a duster brush and dusted my head, running them all over, especially behind the ears and on the nape, using talcum powder on the brush when he went over these areas again.
And then he swiveled his chair a little, took off the cape and said: "There, son, just like my cut, as you asked for" and ran his hand over my head.

I smiled a little awkwardly and said, "Thank you, Sir." I paid and said, "You can keep the change, Sir" and said, "See you later, Sir." He said "Goodbye son, see you in the next cut".

I smiled, opened the door and walked out. On the street, I had the feeling that everyone was looking at me, I couldn't stop running my hand over my head and trying to see my reflection in the shop windows…
