An unexpected wash by washedladuk

It was Saturday and Jay was at home staring out of his bedroom window. He kept looking, glancing at his watch to see what the time was. He really wanted to go the barbers today, his hair was getting a bit long but he desperately wanted to experience having that wash and shampoo again. But there was a small problem with his plans. As much as he wanted to get a haircut, he didn’t have the money for it. But Jay was expecting that problem to be solved soon, as he was expecting his mate Rob to arrive this morning. And Rob owed him £20, which would be enough. But he’d been waiting for over an hour, and still no sign of him.

Jay was getting increasingly frustrated, and was about to try calling his mate again, when he heard a message alert on his phone. He opened and read the message "Sorry Jay, been delayed trying to fix my bike. You wanna come to mine instead?" Jay thought about it for a moment. He thought he could call into Rob’s on the way into town, get the £20 off him, and then get to the barbers. So he replied to the message to say he’d be leaving soon.

Jay couldn’t get to Rob’s fast enough. He rushed up to his front door and knocked on it hard. After a while Rob answered it and opened it to let him in. Jay walked in, Rob’s house sounding far more quiet than normal. Perhaps Rob could tell Jay’s surprise, as he said "the family have gone out for the day, so just me. Wanna carry on with our game we started?"

But Jay was just focussed on one thing, so he said "Nah, I wanna get my hair cut. Can I have that £20 please Rob?"

Rob looked a little embarrassed as he slowly pulled out a £10 note from his jeans and gave it to Jay "I’m sorry mate, I’ve only got half, but I’ll give you the other £10 next week". Jay’s heart sank. £10 would be enough for a haircut, but he knew from the last time that they charge extra for washing your hair.

"But Rob, I wanna get my haircut, I need the £20 today"

"I’m sorry, that’s all I have. And Jay, £10 is enough for a haircut, you can still get it done mate"

Jay replied "No it ain’t enough, I need more than £10 Rob"

"But Jay, they only charge £10 for a haircut, so you’ll be fine"

Without thinking, Jay blurted out "it won’t be enough for them to wash it for me". Almost immediately he realised and regretted what he’d said, and he could see Rob looking at him. "erm what do you wanna get it washed for? You don’t need it washed do you?"

Jay didn’t know what to say, and it was his turn to start turning red with embarrassment. Rob was just staring at him, and Jay knew he had to say something. "oh erm, well erm" he paused for a moment, Rob still staring at him. "I’ve got gel in my hair so they will have to wash that out". Rob continued to stare at his mate.

"Well I’m sure you’ll be fine Jay, your hair looks ok to me. I can’t even see any gel in it. So I don’t think you need anyone to wash it for you". After a slight pause he added "I’ve never seen a guy getting his hair washed before anyway"

They both stood there for a few moments without either of them saying anything. Then Rob said "we’ll you’ve got £10, you gonna go get your haircut Jay?" then added "unless you want me to wash it for you first haha"

Jay replied "course not lol". But there was an awkward silence where neither said anything. Rob broke the silence "how do they wash hair anyway, I’ve never seen a guy getting his hair washed before at the barbers"

Jay replied, still feeling really embarrassed, "oh well they like put a towel around your shoulders, and you have to sit forward on the edge of the chair. Then bend forward over the basin so they can wash it for you. You can’t really see what is happening as you stay bent over like that"

Rob replied "oh ok, I think I get it". After another pause he added "sounds easy enough to do I guess". Jay gave him a slightly puzzled look. And after another silence Rob said "well I can only give you the £10 Jay. But if you want it I could wash your hair for you mate before you go"

Jay was now really puzzled, not quite sure how to reply. "Erm, you’d give me a hair wash?"

Rob replied almost instantly this time "sure, if you want it. Wanna come upstairs now?"

Jay couldn’t quite believe this was happening. Was it real? But Rob looked deadly serious and had already started walking towards the stairs. So Jay slowly followed him up the stairs, not really sure what was happening.

Rob opened the bathroom door and looked inside "I guess we gotta do this right if we gonna do it". He thought for a moment then said "I’ll get the chair from my room, but put that in front of the basin" and sure enough he went off to his room and got the chair. He then went to the cupboard and got a towel out, then grabbed a shampoo bottle from the shower. "How’s that looking Jay?"

Jay wasn’t quite sure what to say. He still couldn’t quite believe this was happening. "Well you gonna take a seat then mate?"

Jay stepped forward and sat down in the seat. Rob placed the towel around Jay’s shoulders. Then asked "ok we got everything, so good to start?"

Jay didn’t think this was going to really happen, but said "yeah, all good here". Rob grabbed the shower hose from the shower and turned the water on. He adjusted the temperature and said to his mate "right all ready when you are, bend your head over"

So Jay did as he was told, sat forward in the seat and leaned forward over the basin. He couldn’t believe it when he felt the water applied to his hair. This this really happening to him, his mate Rob was washing his hair! He could feel Rob’s hands in his hair, and it was feeling good. Rob seemed to take his time, when Jay heard him say "right time for some shampoo". Jay could feel it as Rob started to massage some shampoo into his hair, again Rob seemed to be taking his time. He then felt the water being applied again, rinsing the shampoo out of his hair. "Do they give you just one shampoo at the barbers?" Rob asked

Jay lied in his reply "erm two usually. And they put some conditioner in too". After a slight pause he felt more shampoo being applied to his hair, gently being massaged in by his mate. It was certainly a longer experience than when he’d had it done at the barbers. Feeling his mate doing it to him now was feeling so good. He then felt the water being applied again, running through his hair and the shampoo being washed clear. He felt something else, which he guessed was the conditioner and he could smell a slight scent of flowers with it, again being massaged gently into his hair. Then a final rinse with the water, and Rob turned the water off. "You want me to dry your hair too?"
Jay replied, "well they normally use the towel and rub it dry". So Rob lifted the towel from Jay’s shoulders, and placed over Jay’s head and rubbed it dry

Jay sat himself up in the chair, still not really believing what just happened. Rob was standing behind him. "How was that Jay, did I do ok?"

Jay replied "yeah was fine, thanks mate. Guess I can go get my haircut now"

Jay stood himself up, and quickly rearranged his hair in the mirror. He went to walk out of the bathroom but Rob was still standing there. Jay looked at his mate for a moment "we all good mate?"

Rob paused for a moment before replying "yeah course. I was just wondering"

He paused for long enough for Jay to ask "What’s that?"

Rob replied "Was wondering what it feels like to have you hair washed like that". They both looked at each other and starting smiling
