“Wait, so that’s who your “company" was the last time?!" Tom looked between Jake and I with wide eyes.
“I know, it was a crazy accident. And now we’re dating which is even more crazy. I hardly believe it myself." Jake looked at me lovingly.
“I wish my girlfriend was like you Vane- sorry, Sadie. My girlfriend absolutely loved my hair and she’s absolutely going to lose her s**t when I show up completely bald. I don’t know why but I didn’t think you guys were actually going to SHAVE it shave it."
“You said you wanted it gone," I shrugged.
“It’ll grow back," Jake offered, “Mine apparently grows pretty fast, I’ve had to have Sadie cut it like four times since my first cut."
“I really can’t picture you with long hair," Tom looked at Jake skeptically.
“It was longer than yours," Jake laughs, “Though you pulled it off, I only thought I did."
“So, Tom, I’m going to offer you the same proposal I gave Jake. What would you say to me hiring you as an apprentice? I do feel badly about your acting gigs being impacted by all of this, so I’d like to try to compensate you if I can."
“I don’t even know how to cut hair," Tom was shaking his head, but then a lightbulb went off, “Though, what about a website or something? I’m fantastic with advertising."
“I don’t actually have a website just a Facebook, but that could be helpful. Deal, if you want to join the team I’ll hire you. At least until you can figure something else out once your hair grows back."
“That’s very kind of you. Now if only you could mediate my relationship."
“Maybe she’ll love it," Jake said, “Or maybe she’ll find it a fun thrill for now and then stick it out with you until it’s back to its former glory."
Tom shrugged, “I guess only time will tell…"


TWO YEARS LATER…
If you asked me two years ago where I saw myself now, I’d have told you that I’d be running my one chair salon and living in my apartment above it, still waiting to find true love. I would have never imagined how much things had changed, starting with the fact that my salon now had three chairs, a secretary, and a beautifully designed website. Tom had really pulled through on the advertising front and he’d totally revamped our whole social media presence. I’d ended up having to hire another stylist to work alongside Jake and I since we were getting so many new clients. When Bridget joined our team it was pretty clear she was smitten with Tom, and sure enough, within a few months they were dating! The good news was that now Tom had a personal stylist to tend to his beautiful blond tresses, which he was now wearing shoulder length and masterfully layered to play up his slight waves.
Jake and I are still going strong and Jake is still basically hairless. He vacillates between a super short buzzcut and a crew cut with white walls. With the shop doing so well we were able to buy a condo together, and thankfully Chloe has taking a liking to me! I’m really enjoying having a tiny family unit of my own.
It makes me laugh every time I think about my first encounter with Jake and how horribly things could have gone, but thankfully life had other plans for us. Now I’ve got a handsome boyfriend/coworker, a model for a social media rep, and an award winning stylist helping me manage what was once a tiny one chair barber shop. I still feel a bit bad that Tom’s ex was so harsh on him about shaving his head, while it wasn’t his best look it also wasn’t the worst. I also felt a bit bad that he missed out on a few acting gigs he’d had lined up as a result of breaking his contract. But in the long run, he and Bridget seemed happy and she was more than happy to have him experiment with his hair! Plus, he fit in well with the crew, and he seemed to really enjoy working the front desk and managing all of our socials.
Since shaving Tom’s head I haven’t had any other craigslist encounters. We still don’t get too many clients looking for a drastic change, but my fetish has kind of be saiciated by getting to cut Jake's hair regularly. Especially when I shave the sides down bare and then he winds up between my legs, if you know you know, that’s the best! Maybe someday we’ll give the dominatrix salon another go, but for now, I’m content with my ex pizza guy!
