When I woke up the next morning in Dustin’s bed the whole day and night came rushing back to me. Still in shock over all that was going on in my life. I stared and him as he slept. He looked so cute. I reached up and rubbed my newly buzzed head. Damn it felt good! Then I went back to thinking about the fact that it was a private cut! And this amazing guy next to me was now my new barber. What the heck! I mean I met the perfect guy on an app!

When he woke up he saw me staring at him. I rubbed his short hair and kissed his forehead. We started kissing and I asked him how I got so lucky. He said dude I believe in fate. I just moved here and met know one yet and then I meet you on that stupid app. I smiled yeah. Last time I was on there a bunch of old married guy wanted to hook up. He just giggled. He was so cute when he giggled. I looked at him and said so what are you doing today? He said he had no plans.

We laid in bed for a long while. I love the way he played with my hair. I asked him if this was a one night thing or if we would see each other more. He smiled and said well I am really hoping this is much more than a one night thing. I was relieved. He said one thing though "We can’t be a secret. I want you to be proud of who you are!" I blushed and said "You are right. I will start with my parents when they get home tonight." He offered to be there with me. I thanked him but said I think it would be best if I did it on my own.

That night at dinner my parents complimented me on my new haircut. My mom asked where I got it done. I started to lie then caught myself. Well actually a new friend cut it. My mom looked at me, new friend? Yes, there is something I wanted to tell both of you for a long time. I am gay. Mom smiled and took my hand "Oh honey we have known that since we went to Europe that year." Dad said "As long as you are happy son." I was shocked. Well actually " I am very happy now that I met Dustin." Mom "Well have him over to dinner soon ok sweety?" The rest of the dinner was them talking about how amazing my brother played and how the team won and blah blah blah.

After dinner I went up to my room and started texting Dustin. I told him all about dinner and he was happy for me. We started talking about school and stuff like that. Then Dustin asked if I knew anyone that needed a back to school haircut. I said "How much do you charge ill ask around." Mark of course popped into my head right away seemed like since his first buzz cut he was getting them almost weekly. Dustin said "$20 usually unless the want color or a perm or anything." I was like "You do all that too?" He said "yeah its so much fun!" So I started texting a few friends. Couple said yes. Since Monday was the last day of summer before school started Dustin set up several appointments with my friends.

He asked me if I wanted to come over to make it more comfortable since none of them knew him and I agreed. Mark was first up. Since Mark and I were best friends I met him before hand and let him know about me being gay. He was like "Dude ive known that for a while. Its all good you are my bro no matter what!" I told him all about Dustin and we headed over to Dustin’s house. Mark was like this is so cool! Awesome chair bro! Dustin thanked him and said have a seat. "How short you want me to take this down?" Mark said "I have been getting a 2 at great clips but I think I want something closer." Dustin said "No worries, ill fix you right up." Dustin shaved his sides with a #000 and took the top down to a #1. Unlike great clips Dustin edged him up perfectly. Mark looked amazing! He couldn’t stop staring at himself in the mirror! He gave Dustin $30 and said he had to get to his gf’s house.

Tommy was Dustin’s next client. Tommy typically had the short sides and longer top look. He had been gone all summer so I hadn’t seen him. We greeted him at the door and took him down to the shop in the basement. His hair had gotten pretty wild. I watched as Dustin combed it out and talked to him about his style. Tommy asked for short sides and back and longer top. Dustin took him clippers with the #2 and went up the side of Tommy’s head. He was about 3 inches above his ear and kept that line around to the back. I was amazed how confident he was with the clippers. We all talked as Dustin transformed Tommy’s mop into and amazingly fresh cut with perfect lines. The top was trimmed down a bout 2 inches but perfectly cut and styled. Tommy gave Dustin $40 and headed out. Wow they are even tipping you big I smiled and I walked over and kissed him softly.

After making out for a few min there was another knock on the door. It was Riley who I had known since I was in elementary school. Riley loved his hair. He was shocked to see that I had a buzz cut and we gave each other a bro hug. His hair was blonde and parted down the middle. He said he was nervous about letting Dustin cut it and wasn’t sure. We headed down to the shop and I introduced him to my boyfriend. Riley said "Wait bro, boyfriend?" Riley seemed to be the first person that didn’t already assume I was gay! I laughed "Yeah we started dating this weekend." Riley looked a little confused but he was ok with everything and took a seat in the chair. Dustin said "damn man you have really nice hair. What do you want me to do?" Riley looked at himself in the mirror and said "I want something different for senior year. What do you think?" We pulled up some pics off of google. Dustin suggested that he lose the patterned middle part, take the sides down a bit but more of a choppy look on top. Riley wasn’t sure. Then he said "what about a faded mullet?" Dustin and i had discussed the mullet trend and we advised against it but Riley clearly wanted this from the beginning he was just to shy to ask for it. Dustin proceeded to give him exactly what he asked for. Honestly with his blonde hair the cut just wasn’t looking all that great. I could tell Dustin was stressing. When he was finished Riley looked at it close in the mirror. He said "You guys were right! This was a bad idea. What am I going to do now." Dustin said "do you trust me Riley?" Riley smiled and said "Do I have a choice at this point?" We all laughed. Dustin picked up his clipper and shaved away the back and higher up the sides leaving a very graduated fade on the sides and back. The longer top hung over the fade as Dustin shaped it and layered it perfectly. When he spun Riley back around it was a whole new look for Riley. Much shorter than he had ever gone. By the smile on his face I could tell Riley was extremely pleased with it. This was a very unique look that Dustin had pulled off. While they were finishing up I went up to answer the door. It was Chase. I showed him down.

Chase seemed to know about me being gay already as apparently the word was spreading quickly. I didn’t know anyone cared about me that much as I laughed to myself. Riley actually gave Dustin a hug he was so happy with his hair! He gave Dustin $40 and went on his way. Chase was a pretty boy for sure. He was the only one of my friends that did color and stuff to his hair. He was very straight and very masculine but super handsome. Dustin invited him to sit and asked him how he wanted it. Chase asked "Do you do highlights?" Dustin said "Yeah and as he ran his fingers through Chases hair he asked when the last time he got it colored was." Chase said "March I think." Dustin said "Yeah looks like they are pretty much grown out. Dustin trimmed up his hair perfectly. He mixed the color and started free hand painting in the highlights. Chase had chocolate brown hair and they had decided to go pretty heavy with some light blonde color. I was having so much fun watching my boyfriend work and all the haircuts he was doing. So far 100% success from the guys getting their hair done by Dustin. When Chase was done he was all cleaned up with a messy top that had light blonde highlights through out. He paid Dustin $80 for the color and cut and a $20 tip.

I helped Dustin clean up the shop. I looked at my phone and it was blowing up. Of course about me being gay but also people asking about Dustin the barber and when they could get in to see him. Dustin said I think I have had enough today! We both smiled and he fanned out his cash. Told ya I made good money doing this! We started kissing and went up to his room. Couple of hours later I was heading home. My senior year was going to be epic!…… To be continued
