Adam part 2 by Bald K

Lewis and Adam got out of the taxi and walked down the side passage of Tommy’s house and put the beer and vodka on the table where the rest of the beer and spirits were.
"Hey, it’s curly and punk boy," Tommy said as he walked over. "Food will be ready soon and help yourself to the beer."
"Happy birthday baldie," Lewis grinned. "How does it feel to be a quarter of a century old?"
"Cheeky, Scott said to go up to the bathroom if you want your hawk freshened up," Tommy told Lewis. "Give you a decent haircut at the same if you want it done," Tommy said to Adam.
"I am fine," Adam replied.
"You coming up?" Lewis said to Adam. "See me get the hawk freshened up."
Adam followed Lewis into the house and up to the bathroom where Scott was placing a towel around a young boys shoulders.
"What are you doing to Tommy’s bro?" Lewis asked Scott.
"Giving me a baldie like my brother," Tommy’s brother replied.
"But you are only fourteen and school forbids extra short haircuts," Lewis said.
"Look, Alex maybe only fourteen but he can decide how he wants his haircut," Scott told Lewis as he switched the clippers on. "Anyway, school breaks for summer at the end of next week."
"Do it Scotty mate, make a skinhead like my brother," Max told Scott as he looked in the mirror.
Lewis and Adam watched on as Scott ran the clippers down the centre of Max’s ginger hair leaving a hint of stubble in its place.
"Yay! Max is a skinhead!" Alex laughed as Scott shaved more hair off the top of Max’s head. "Earrings will be next!"
"I doubt your dad will allow a ladder like your brother," Scott told Max.
Lewis and Adam watched as Scott shaved the rest of Alex’s ginger hair down to a mere stubble before removing the towel.
"Thanks Scotty." Alex said as he got off the stool rubbing his head. "You getting shaved?" Alex asked Adam.
"Not today," Adam replied knowing he wanted to sit on the stool and lose his curly hair.
"Come on then punk, let’s get the hawk looking fresh," Scott said to Lewis.
Lewis sat on the stool and Scott draped the towel over his shoulders before removing the hair that had grown with the clippers before lathering up the little stubble that was left on the sides of Lewis’ head and shaving them smooth.
"Good job as usual," Lewis grinned as he checked the hawk in the mirror. "Let’s get rat faced."
Adam followed Lewis and Scott back out to the garden and picked up a beer before sitting down at a table.
"Punk was saying you are thinking of getting your ears pierced and some more ink done." Scott said to Adam.
"Maybe, I think it was a spur of the moment thing when I saw Lewis’ tattoo on his back." Adam replied.
"Show curly the work I did on you this morning," Scott said to Lewis.
Lewis stripped his polo shirt off to reveal an eagle tattoo across the top of his chest that went onto his shoulders.
"I thought you were starting on you tattoo sleeves today?" Adam said to Lewis.
"They start in a week or two," Lewis replied. "Scott suggested that I should have this done instead."
"That must have taken a few hours," Adam said to Scott.
"I started on it at seven this morning and finished at eleven, the same next week to finish it off," Scott replied. "Would you like something similar?"
"Err, yeah, no, I don’t know," Adam replied. "I mean it looks really good on punk, but would it look good on me?"
"Come on curly, I have seen you working out at the gym, you have the perfect physique for that sort of tattoo," Scott said to Adam. "Have a think about it."
"Yeah, ok I will," Adam replied. "But I am thinking more on the line of a spider or spider web on my elbows."

Adam woke on the Monday morning and heard his mum talking to somebody in the kitchen.
"Unusual, mum has usually gone to work by this time," Adam thought to himself as he got out of bed and headed for the shower.
"Adam got into the shower and washed himself before washing his hair, getting out of the shower, and drying himself. "Today is going to be the day when I finally get the haircut," Adam thought to himself as he walked into his bedroom and dried his hair. "No excuses just get to Franco’s and tell him to do it."
"Time for mum to see my ink," Adam thought to himself as he made his way down to the kitchen where his mum and a man was sitting drinking coffee,
"Adam, I would like you to meet Kevin," Adam’s mum said to Adam.
"What the f*** is he doing in our house?" Kevin said to his mum.
"I have been seeing Kevin for the last nine months," Adam’s mum told Adam.
"Wait, you were still with dad then? You mean you were seeing this c*** while dad was still alive?"
"Don’t be like this Adam, me and you mum love each other," Kevin told Adam.
"So, when were you going to tell dad that you were seeing somebody behind his back!" Adam shouted at his mum. "Dad has been dead for just over a month and you were shacking up with this goofy twat!"
"I only stayed with your father because of his cancer, I was preparing to divorce him when he got the diagnosis," Adam’s mum told Adam.
"Yeah, right, well I want this piece of s*** out of this house when I get home from the city!" Adam shouted at his mum before putting his shoes on.
"Wait right there, what is that on your arm?" Adam’s mum said to Adam. "Don’t tell me that is a real tattoo just like your father had."
"What if it is? You have been too busy s***** this piece of s*** to take any notice of me!" Adam shouted as he grabbed his jacket and stormed out of the house. "Time for the haircut."
Adam walked down the road and waited for a bus to arrive and got on it. Arriving in the city centre Adam got off the bus and headed to Franco’s barber shop where he saw a young man walk in just ahead of him. Adam did not hesitate to follow the young man into Franco’s.
"Right Callum you are my first victim of the day," Gino said to the young man that Adam had followed in. "Are you ready to go for a psycho look?"
"What do you have in mind?" Callum replied. "May have to look at longer breaks between my regular four-week visit."
"Why is that?" Gino asked Callum.
"My partner gave birth to our baby son last week," Callum replied. "So, we might have to look at saving some cash."
"I am sure we can come up with some arrangement," Gino told Callum. "What I was thinking for you is what I call a psycho wedge where the back and sides are shaved to the skin with the top starting at about an inch and a half going down to blend in with the shaved head at the back."
"Do you honestly think it would be a good haircut on me?" Callum asked Gino.
"I would not have suggested it if I thought it would not suit you," Gino told Callum. "How about I give you a psycho wedge today free of charge?"
"Ok, I will give it a go," Callum replied. "I can always grow it out and you know I like the psychobilly scene like my brother."
"You will love it," Gino told Callum as he picked up the picked up his Oster clippers. "Your hair does not need any training as you have had this quiff for, I don’t know how long."
"Over five years," Callum replied as Gino started to shave the hair from the left side of Callum’s head.
Gino continued to shave the back and sides with the Oster’s before switching them off and spreading hot shaving soap over the back and sides of Callum’s head. After wiping his hands and placing a tissue on Callum’s right shoulder, Gino put a fresh blade in his razor and started to carefully shave the tint amount of stubble off Callum’s head.
"I look different already," Callum said to Gino as Gino wiped the excess shaving soap from Callum’s head.
Gino picked up his Oster’s and a comb and started to take the remaining hair left on Callum’s head down on a gradient to the hair at the back merged into the shaved back before switching the Oster’s off and placing them on the bench.
"So, what does Callum think about the psycho wedge?" Gino asked Callum as he showed Callum the back and sides of his head in a mirror.
"Yeah, it looks like a keeper," Callum replied. "I love the way you have taken the hair on top down, so it blends with the shaved back and sides, the contrast is amazing."
"Maybe next time try it with part of the top shaved, more like a punk look" Gino suggested to Callum as he removed the cape.
"Maybe," Callum grinned. "I love the smooth skin feeling, it is a bit weird."
"Come back in four to six weeks to get it freshened up," Gino told Callum. "And use this butch wax on it to keep it looking sharp."
"Yeah sure," Callum said as he took the butch wax off Gino.
"Do you know anyone called Brody?" Adam asked Callum.
"No sorry mate," Callum replied. "Why is that?"
"He had a horseshoe flat done on Saturday and said that her brother had a flat with a blonde streak down the centre," Adam said to Callum.
"Ah, that is my mate Zak, we know him as the skunk," Callum told Noah.
"Oh, I see," Adam sighed.
"I was with the skunk on Saturday at a psycho gig," Callum told Adam. "He did say that Ann’s boyfriend had a horseshoe and something about joining up with the army."
"He never mentioned anything to me," Adam said to Callum. "I thought he was off to university in September."
"Maybe I am thinking about somebody else." Callum said to Noah.
"I am seeing him in the week, maybe he will tell me then," Noah sighed.
"you are next young man," Gino said to Adam as Callum put his jacket on.
"Yeah, I guess so as I am the only one here," Adam grinned as he put his jacket on a hook and walked over to the chair and sat down. "Callum, could I ask you a favour and film my haircut so I can put it on YouTube?"
"Sure," Callum replied as he took Adam’s phone off him.
"So, what will it be?" Gino asked Adam as he secured the cape.
"Go on say it, this is where your dad had his done and there is only Callum here," Adam said to himself as he looked in the mirror. "When your great grandfather ran the shop, my father used to come here for a proper skinhead," Adam told Gino. "Or would a flattop suit me?"
"You want the same skinhead?" Gino asked Adam as he picked up the Oster’s. "I sure don’t get many boys asking for a five zero skinhead haircut, and your hair is too curly for a flattop."
"Yeah, I want a proper all off skinhead then," Adam replied confidently. "With me facing away from the mirror, you rock the bald head and earrings,"
"Cheers dude, I think you will rock the five zero skinhead look," Gino replied.
"I am going for a ladder in my left ear after I leave here," Adam told Gino confidently.
"Go for it," Gino said as he swung the chair around to face the waiting area.
"All off skinhead then?" Gino said as he ran a comb through Adam’s curls. "The five zero blade will leave you virtually bald."
"Oster clippers with the five zero blade?" Adam asked Gino.
"Yes, vintage 76 Oster clippers, they have been in the family since the 1950’s," Gino replied. "We might be able to train your hair after your skinhead into a flattop."
"Do it then, before I chicken out," Adam grinned. "Get the mop shorn right to the skin."
"You got it dude," Gino said as he tilted Adam’s head forward and ran the Oster’s up the back of Adam’s head and depositing Adam’s blond curls into the cape.
"No going back now, dad," Adam thought to himself as more of his curls fell into the cape. "I said I would do it for you."
Adam felt the Oster’s peel the hair from the sides of his head before Gino placed the Oster’s at the centre of Adam’s forehead and ran the over the top of Adam’s head before switching off the clippers.
"Ready to see the skinhead?" Gino said to Adam.
"I guess so," Adam replied nervously.
"There you are one all off skinhead," Gino said as he swung the chair round so Adam could see his haircut.
"Oh my God!" Adam shouted as he saw himself without the curls. "I love it!"
"It does look good on you," Gino said to Adam as he removed the cape. "Give me a tenner for the haircut."
"There you go mate," Adam said as he paid Gino. "So, what is with the shaved look?"
"I started to lose my hair a couple of years ago," Gino replied. "It runs in the family, so I just done it one night after I locked up."
"I might try the razor bald look next time," Adam grinned.
"Maybe, anyway when you want the skinhead redone give us a call," Gino told Adam as he handed him a card.
"Here is your phone," Callum said as he handed Adam his phone. "Gino knows his stuff when it comes to what haircut you should have."
"I had it done in memory of my father," Adam told Callum. "But I think it is a keeper and I have the clothes at home."
"How about meeting for a beer sometime?" Callum suggested to Adam. "This is my card, give us a call."
"Sure thing," Adam replied. "I better make a move; it has been great meeting you."
Adam slipped his jacket on and walked out of the barber shop with Callum and checked the time before making getting his phone out of his pocket and putting Callum’s number into it.
"So, you are a trainee accountant?" Adam asked Callum.
"At the family business," Callum replied. "I want to do something else, but it is family as I keep getting reminded," Callum sighed. "I have written some psychobilly songs fused with skinhead oi music."
"I have done some skinhead oi songs myself," Adam told Callum. "I play the bass guitar."
"How about hooking for a session and see if we can do a collaboration?" Callum suggested. "I am negotiating with a record label, but they want a minimum of twelve songs, and I only have seven."
"How about meeting in the yard of ale pub at say four thirty tomorrow afternoon?" Adam suggested to Callum.
"Look forward to it," Callum said as he got in his car and drove off.
"Adam found Lewis’ phone number and pressed the call button and waited for Lewis to answer his phone.
"Hey curly, how are you?" Lewis asked as he answered his phone.
"Yeah, doing ok, punk," Adam replied. "Look is your sister about today to do my ladder?"
"Yes, she should be there when they open." Lewis Replied. "I will call her, so you get a discount."
"Cheers dude, catch you later," Adam said to Lewis.
Adam made his way to Jodie’s piercing studio and found out it did not open until ten in the morning.
"S***," Adam thought to himself, that is the time I have to be at my uncle’s place to select the stuff I want," Adam thought to himself as he turned away from the studio.
"Are you Adam?" A young woman asked Adam as she opened the door. "Lewis told me to expect you."
"Yeah, but I need to be at my cousin’s place for ten when you open," Adam replied.
"Come on in, I will do you cash in hand, I am Sophie by the way," Sophie said to Adam.
"Sweet as," Adam grinned as he walked into the studio and Sophie locked the door.
"So, Lewis told me you wanted a ladder like his," Sophie said as Adam followed her through to a small room.
"Yeah, four rings in the left lobe," Adam replied.
"Four rings will be no problem, give me a twenty to cover the cost of the rings," Sophie told Adam. "Take a seat and I will get the rings and a needle."
"Got the skinhead crop and getting the ladder on the same day is a great result," Adam thought to himself as he sat on the stool and waited for Sophie to walk back in. "Dad would be so proud of me if he was still with us."
"You will look a proper hard boy skinhead with the ladder," Sophie said as she walked back into the room with a four steel rings and a needle on a tray.
"Lewis looks a hard boy punk with his haircut," Adam grinned. "Me and Lewis would make a formidable pair."
"You sure would, no messing with you two," Sophie said to Adam as she marked Adam’s ear for the four rings. "Ready?"
"Yeah, go for it," Adam replied.
Adam felt the piercing needle go through his earlobe and Sophie threading the first ring though before doing the other three rings.
"What do you think?" Sophie asked Adam as she showed Adam the rings in the ear.
"Love it," Adam replied. "An hour ago, I had hair and no piercings and now I am a skinhead with a four-ring ladder."
"Use surgical spirit to keep the rings clean and help stop infection," Sophie told Adam as they walked out of the room. "See you in the pub sometime."
"You sure will," Adam replied as he walked out of the studio and headed towards his Uncle’s shop. "Hey Uncle, how do you like the new look?" Adam said to his Uncle as he walked into the shop.
"F*** me, you look just like your dad did when he got his skinhead crop," Neil said to Adam. "Where did you get the haircut?"
"Franco’s, Gino used the same clippers that Franco used on my dad back in the eighties," Adam replied. "I have the clothes, so I just need to get the boots," Adam said as he walked into the storeroom and selected a pair of sixteen eyelet cherry doc marten boots. "Did you mean what you said on Saturday about no charge?"
"You may as well have the stock you want otherwise the bailiffs will just take it," Neil sighed.
"I did not know you were in so much debt," Adam said to Neil. "I thought you were doing great."
"I took a loan out against my home and now the bank have called the loan in due to me not keeping up the repayments, so take what you want and basically go, also online shopping has crippled me."
Adam selected a few Ben Sherman polo shirts and some braces and placed them in a bag.
"Look if you need me, just give me a call," Adam told Neil as he walked out of the shop. "I will work for you free of charge."
"Thanks for the offer," Neil replied as Adam walked out of the shop.
"I just need to get that apprentice job that I applied for to help with my college costs," Adam thought to himself as he boarded the bus.

Adam heard his phone beep telling him that he had a message and saw it was from his mum saying that she was working late with Kevin and would see him that night or the next day as she had something to tell him.
"It had better be her saying she has finished with goofy," Adam thought to himself as he secured the braces to his jeans. "And I don’t give a flying f*** about what she says about my skinhead look."
Adam made his way downstairs and into the lounge where he took his new cherry docs out of the box and put them on. Adam watched a video on YouTube on how to lace his boots before threading the laces through the eyelets and tying them up and stood up.
"I said I would do it for you dad," Adam said to himself as he looked in the mirror. "I bet you are so proud of me as you watch over me from heaven."
Adam checked he had his key with him before walking out of the house and making his way to the yard of ale and paused before pushing the door open and saw Lewis serving a customer.
"Hey punk, how do you like my haircut?" Adam said as he walked to the bar.
"My sis told me that you had got your hair shaved off," Lewis told Adam. "You look just awesome with the skinhead clothes and cherry docs; the ladder suits you as well."
"Got the haircut at Franco’s the same place my dad got his skinhead," Adam grinned. "Thinking of getting a crucified skinhead tattoo or spider webs on the elbows next."
"Why not get a spider web tattoo with a spider near it?" Lewis suggested to Adam. "It could be part of your sleeve?"
"Nah, my sleeve will be different," Adam told Lewis.
"F*** me, curly has shaved his hair off," Tommy said as he walked into the pub and saw Adam. "You look a proper skinhead with the ladder and the boots."
"Thanks, all I need now is to sort out my apprenticeship as a vehicle mechanic," Adam said to Tommy. "I also have twelve eyelet cherry docs that belonged to my dad."
"I might be able to help you there," Tommy told Adam. "Martin who was supposed to join us as an apprentice decided to let us down, let me give my dad a call."
"Two skinheads working together," Adam grinned as Tommy took his phone out of his pocket and called his dad.
"Hey dad, I am in the pub with a young guy who is looking for an apprenticeship," Tommy told his dad. "Can you call in for a chat tomorrow?" Tommy asked Adam.
"Yeah, what time would you like me there?" Adam replied. "I am free all day."
"What time would you like Adam to come in?" Tommy asked his father. "Ok I will tell him, See you in the morning. "Dad would like you there for ten tomorrow morning." Tommy told Adam.
"I guess I had better buy you a beer for getting me a job," Adam said to Tommy. "And I will be there for ten tomorrow."
"It is not guaranteed that my dad will take you on," Tommy told Adam. "But you have a good chance."
"So, what does your mum think about you being a skinhead?" Lewis asked Adam.
"She has not seen me with the skinhead look yet," Adam replied. "I reckon she will go loopy, but I don’t give a f***."

Adam woke the next morning, walked into the bathroom, and smiled when he saw himself with the freshly cropped skinhead. "I look so different without the curls, I should have done it sooner, "Adam thought to himself as he quickly showered and cleaned his teeth before going back into his bedroom and getting dressed in his new skinhead clothing before putting his boots on and walking downstairs.
"Good morning mother, how do you like your sons new image?" Adam asked his mum sarcastically."
"What the! What have you done with your lovely curly hair?" Adam’s mum shrieked. "Why have you gone and shaved your hair off and got those awful rings in your ear?"
"I have done it in memory of my father, but I had intended on getting the look on my eighteenth birthday," Adam calmly replied. "Oh, and I have put all his records in my room."
"While you are under my roof you will grow your hair back!" Adam’s mum shouted at Adam. "God knows what your grandparents are going to think when they see you."
"And how do you think you will make me grow my hair back?" Adam asked his mum. "I am eighteen now and can make my own choices of how I look and what I do."
"This is my house, and I will decide on how you look," Adam’s mum told Adam. "Do not forget who your father left this house to."
"Only until I am twenty-one then I get half the value of the house," Adam reminded his mum. "Oh, I think grandad will like his only grandson looking like his son."
"If you think I am going to have a skinhead under my roof then he had better start paying me rent," Adam’s mother told Adam.
"Fine, I have an interview for an apprentice job at a local car mechanics at ten, so if I get the job, I will give you a percentage of what I earn." Adam grinned. "I guess you will be with goofy when I get home."
"His name is Kevin, and you will start to call him by his name," Adam’s mum told Adam.
"Yeah, whatever, see you when you decide to come home with goofy," Adam replied as he slipped his jacket on. "Don’t wait up for me."
Adam made his way to DW Auto repairs and paused before walking into the reception area and waited for somebody to appear.
"Hey curly," Tommy said as he walked into the reception area. "Dad is in his office, and I have had a chat with him, so it looks pretty good for you to get the position."
"Sweet as," Adam grinned as he followed Tommy through to where his dad was sitting in his office.
"This is Adam who I was telling you about," Tommy said to his dad.
"Come on in and take a seat young man, I am Dave the owner of the garage," Dave told Adam.
"Thank you, sir," Adam said as he sat down.
"Call me Dave," Dave told Adam. "So, you wish to train up as a car mechanic Tommy was telling me."
"Yes, Dave, I have been interested in working on cars since I was fifteen," Adam replied. "I can do an oil change and a few other bits."
"So, are you working at the moment?" Dave asked Adam.
"I was working for my uncle at his retro clothes shop, but he is closing down due to debt," Adam replied. "I am sure he would give me a reference if you needed it."
"If I offer you the job, you would be working here apart from the days you were at college," Dave told Adam. "I would pay you two hundred pounds per week plus any overtime you do, you would also be entitled to four weeks paid holiday."
"That sounds really good," Adam replied. "When would you like me to start if I am offered the job?"
"I will contact your uncle today and if he give you a satisfactory reference along with your college how would Monday sound?" Dave told Adam.
"I have no holiday plans yet, and Monday would be perfect," Adam told Dave. "I did worry about my appearance may have gone against me."
"Because you are a skinhead and have a tattoo like my son?" Dave laughed. "He did tell me that you were a skinhead like him, but that is not a problem."
"That is a relief," Adam grinned. "I am planning more ink though."
"You and my son will be a good pair," Dave told Adam. "I will give you a call later in the week, but I think I will be seeing you at eight on Monday morning."
"I look forward to working here," Adam replied.
Adam left the garage and made his way into the city and checked that the cheque had cleared so he go and inquire about the motor bike he was interested in. Arriving at the motor bike showroom, Adam saw the motor bike he was interested in and walked in.
"Can I help you sir?" A young man asked Adam.
"I am interested in buying that bike you have in the window," Adam told the young man. "I am having my practical test on Friday."
"The Yamaha tracer nine series 125CC," the young man replied. "That is a second-hand bike which is ideal for a young man to start on."
"Yeah, any chance of knocking a bit off the price?" Adam grinned. "I also need a jacket and a helmet to go with it."
"Let me see, the price of the bike is three thousand four hundred pounds, leather jacket would add another one fifty and the helmet hundred making it three thousand six hundred and fifty in total," the young man told Adam. "How about I chuck in the helmet free of charge?"
"Hmmm," Adam said. "How about I pay for the helmet, and you chuck in the leather jacket?"
"I will just go and ask my boss," the young man told Adam as he made his way to the office. "Seems like the boss is in a good mood today," the young man told Adam as he walked back. "You can have the lot for three thousand five hundred."
"If I put a deposit down on it, can I pick it up later in the week after I have sorted out the insurance on it?" Adam asked the young man. "Say I pay a thousand pounds now and the rest when I pick it up?"
"That sounds fair, if you would like to come in the office, we might be able to sort out your insurance for you," the young man told Adam. "I presume you have passed your theory test?"
"Sounds good to me," Adam replied as he followed the young man into the office. "I passed that a few weeks ago and I have my test at ten thirty on Friday, a mate of mine has been lending me his bike."

Adam thanked the driver as he got off the bus and made the short walk to his grandparents where he saw his grandad working in the garden.
"Hey, how do you like the new improved Adam?" Adam asked his grandad.
"My god! You look the perfect likeness to your father with that haircut and tattoo!" Adam’s grandad shouted out when he looked at Adam "What made you do it?"
"When father was too ill to work, we would often listen to his ska and oi records and he would reminisce on how he loved the skinhead image, and how he wished he could go and get it done again at Franco’s," Adam replied. "Mum hated it, so we only done it while she was at work."
"I remember that day he walked in with his hair shaved off like yours, he loved the look and only grew his hair out to please your mother," Adam’s grandad sighed. "You really do look good with the haircut, boots and braces."
"Thanks grandad, mum wants me to grow the hair out, but I told her that I am eighteen and can make my own choices now," Adam told his grandad. "I also had an interview with a garage about being a trainee there while I do college."
"Let us hope you get the job," Adam’s grandad smiled. "Are you staying for lunch? Your gran has made a steak and ale pie."
"How could I refuse her steak and ale pie?" Adam replied. "I wonder how she will take my new look?"
"Look what your grandson has gone and done," Adam’s grandad said as he walked in with Adam.
"Oh my, you have lost your curls and look so much like your father now," Adam’s gran replied. "You look more mature with that haircut."
"So, you like it then?" Adam asked his gran.
"Yes," Adam’s gran replied. "Are you here for lunch?"
"How could I say no to one of your home-made pies?" Adam grinned. "I also have something to tell you both."
"You are not leaving us I hope," Adam’s gran said to Adam.
"Nah, nothing like that," Adam replied. "My mother has been dating a goofy twat from her office for the last nine months and only stayed with father due to his cancer."
"Well, he will not be welcome in our house," Adam’s grandad told Adam. "How do you feel about it?"
"I told mother that he is not staying in my house," Adam replied.
"And what did she say?" Adam’s gran inquired.
"Told me that it was also her house, and she will say if he stays or not," Adam sighed.
"You are always welcome to move in here until you are twenty-one and she can buy you out of your share of the house," Adam’s grandad told Adam.
"I might just do that," Adam replied. "Could I move his records and other bits here, so mother does not bin them?"
"We will do that right now," Adam’s grandad told Adam. "Then we can have lunch and a chat about your new image."
Adam followed his grandad out of the house and got in the car for the short journey to his house. Adam and his grandad walked into the house and collected the records and a few other pieces that belonged to Adam’s father before returning back to Adam’s grandparents’ house.
"I think in your father’s room there might still be his Oster clippers and a few other bits he rescued when Rodney retired and was just throwing all his equipment away," Adam’s grandad said to Adam as they walked into the bedroom. "Ah, yes here they are with all the blades."
"I wonder if they still work?" Adam said as he took the clippers out of the drawer and placed the five zero blade on them before plugging them in. "Oh yes, free skinhead haircuts now!" Adam said as he switched the clippers on. "You can be my personal barber."
"I would love to be your barber," Adam’s grandad grinned.
"How would you feel if I got spider web tattoos on my elbows?" Adam asked his grandad.
"Your father was going to get them done but your mother told him that they would be finished if he got them done and did not grow his hair out," Adam’s grandad told Adam. "Get them done, and I will pay for them."
"I will go and book it with Scott when I leave here," Adam said. "You are the best grandad."
"Tell me how much they will cost, and I will transfer the money to your account." Adam’s grandad told Adam.
"You are the best," Adam said to his grandad. "I will see you Sunday."
Adam walked out of his grandparents house and made his way back to the small parade of shops near where he lived and walked into the supermarket and looked for Brody.
"Is Brody about?" Adam asked Taylor. "
"He handed in his notice last week, his last day working here was Friday," Taylor told Adam. "What happened to your hair?"
"Got it shaved off, I have been looking at doing it for a while now," Adam replied. "Fancy meeting up for a pint later?"
"Sorry man I am getting the bald fade redone then me and my bird are checking out a place for us to live," Taylor replied. "I will call you and sort a beer night out."
"I could give you an all-over bald look," Adam grinned. "My grandad gave me my dad’s old Oster clippers."
"Maybe," Taylor grinned. "I had better get on or Frank will be on at me."
Adam walked out of the supermarket and made his way over to Brody’s parents house and rang the bell.
"Oh, hello Adam I did not recognise you with your hair shaved off," Brody’s father said as he opened the door.
"Is Brody about?" Adam asked Brody’s father.
"Did he not tell you that he had enlisted in the army?" Brody’s father said to Adam. "All we knew about it was when we got up on Sunday and saw a note saying that he had joined the army and would be in touch."
"The last time I saw him was the Saturday when he got the haircut," Adam told Brody’s father. "Said he had something to sort with his girl."
"So, it looks like he told nobody," Brody’s father sighed. "If you do hear from him let us know."
"I will sir," Adam replied. "I will see you about."
Adam walked down the path of Brody’s home and got his phone out and found Brody’s number and pressed the dial button.
"Hey, you are through to psycho boy, to busy doing stuff to answer your call, so leave some words after the tone," Brody’s voicemail said.
"Give us a call when you get this message," Adam said before ending the call and making his way home.

Adam arrived at the yard of ale just after four and walked in and saw Lewis in his usual place standing behind the bar.
"Hey punk boy how are you?" Adam said as he walked to the bar.
"Doing good, my new keyboard arrived today so I can work on more of my punk music," Lewis replied.
"I did not know you done your own stuff," Adam said to Lewis. "Give me a pint of the adder and take one for yourself."
"I have worked on writing music for a couple of years now," Lewis told Adam as he poured the beer. "I just need to find a bass guitarist and a guitar player to help do some demo stuff."
"I have done some skinhead oi and ska stuff and I am a bass guitarist," Adam grinned. "I am meeting a young guy called Callum here any time now who has done some psychobilly stuff."
"Maybe we could fuse our ideas together," Lewis told Adam.
"Sounds like an idea," Adam said as he took a mouthful of beer.
"Hey baldie," Callum said to Adam as he walked over to the bar. "F*** me, Lewis Watson? We were in the same class at the academy, you had an awful curtains haircut if I remember."
"We knew you as the quiff," Lewis said to Callum. "Your hair was always immaculately styled into a long quiff."
"Yeah, that was me the quiff," Callum grinned. "So, what is with the punk look?"
"The day I left school I went to the barber and got the curtains shaved down into a skinhead crop, which was banned from school as I was deep into oi music before getting into my dad’s punk stuff and grew the hawk," Lewis told Callum. "I like the psycho wedge cut you have got now."
"I still had the quiff but with the back and sides at a grade two until yesterday when Gino done my psycho wedge," Callum said. "Then I videoed Adam get his skinhead crop done."
"We know Adam as curly," Lewis grinned. "What can I get you to drink?" Lewis asked Callum.
"A pint of Carling," Callum told Adam. "Do you still play keyboard?"
"I was saying to curly that I had a new one delivered today, A Roland E A expandable," Lewis told Callum. "Got some real good heavy bass sounds from it before I started my shift."
"How did work take it when you turned up with your psycho wedge?" Adam asked Callum.
"They were shocked," Callum laughed. "My grandad told me that I need to grow the back and sides out to look respectable."
"How about the three of us work on our music and see if we can fuse it?" Adam suggested. "Call ourselves Psych-OI?"
"I am up for it. How about you psycho boy?" Lewis grinned.
"Sure, punk boy," Callum replied. "I will book a studio so we can have a session next week?"
"I am starting work on Monday, so it would need to be evenings," Adam told Callum and Lewis.
"Evenings are better for me as well," Lewis said. "I am usually off on a Tuesday, but Lucy called in sick, so I am on till close."
"I will book one for six next Tuesday evening," Callum told Lewis and Adam. "Psych-Oi, I like the sound of that."
"I better take this call from my mum," Adam said as his phone rang. "Hi mum, what do you want?"
"I want you at home for six tonight, I have something to tell you so don’t be late," Adam’s mum told Adam.
"Yeah, whatever, see you at six, bye," Adam said before ending the call. "Mum needs me home at six to tell me something," Adam told Callum and Lewis. "Are we doing weights tomorrow?" Adam asked Lewis.
"Sure, be here for seven curly," Lewis grinned.

"Guess I had better go," Adam sighed as he finished his beer. "Give us a call and we can make a night of drinking later in the week," Adam said to Callum.
"How about tomorrow?" Callum suggested. "I have no clients until after lunch on Thursday."
"We could discuss music and what direction our music can take us," Lewis suggested. "I am on until six tomorrow."
"Where shall we meet?" Adam asked Callum and Lewis.
"Shall we say the monkey tap room at seven?" Callum said. "We could then do a bit of a crawl."
"Sounds good to me," Adam replied. "See you tomorrow."
Adam walked out of the pub and walked the short distance to his home and let himself in.
"Hi mum, I am home!" Adam called out.
"We are in the lounge!" Adam’s mum shouted back.
"What the f*** is goofy doing here, and who is the girl?" Adam said as he walked into the lounge.
"You will call Kevin by his name and that young girl is his son, Joseph," Adam’s mum replied.
"More like f***ing Josephine with his stupid manbun," Adam said. "What the f*** are they doing here?"
"Kevin and Joseph are moving here over the weekend," Adam’s mum told Adam. "So, you need to clear out the spare bedroom so Joseph can move his belongings in."
"In your dreams," Adam retorted. "No way am I having a boy who wears his hair like a girl in this house."
"Don’t speak to my son like that," Kevin told Adam. "You will show some respect."
"I bet Josephine likes to wear his mummies clothes at the weekend," Adam laughed. "Are you a prick who likes to wear mummies clothes?" Adam said to Joseph.
"I do not wear my mummies clothes," Joseph told Adam. "Just because you have got a skinhead and a ladder does not make you any different to me."
"Oh, Josephine does speak and not like a girl," Adam mocked. "You move in, you keep the f*** away from me, got that?"
"You will be helping Kevin and Joseph with the move on Saturday," Adam’s mum informed Adam.
"Will I f***!" Adam shouted. "I am busy Saturday; all day and I am at a party Saturday night!"
"Then you will have to cancel your plans for Saturday," Adam’s mum told Adam.
"You will do as your mother tells you young man," Kevin told Adam. "I am picking the van up at eight on Saturday morning so I will expect to see you at eight thirty ready to help with the move."
"You are not my father and never will be, so I will not take any orders from you!" Adam shouted at Kevin. "I am off out!"
Adam ran into his bedroom and packed a change of clothing and his gym equipment into a holdall before going back downstairs and out of the front door, slamming it behind him and made his way back to the yard of ale and walked in.
"Thought you were required at home?" Lewis said to Adam.
"Goofy and his manbun s*** of a son are moving in," Adam told Lewis. "Any chance of dossing here for the night?"
"No problem, you can kip in the spare bedroom," Lewis replied. "Are we still doing a weight session in the morning?"
"You bet," Adam grinned. "Oh s*** it is my mum calling," Adam sighed as he heard his phone ring.
"Where are you? Get home now!" Adam’s mum said as Adam answered his phone.
"No way," Adam replied. "I might be home tomorrow but don’t bother calling me."
"Joseph wants to talk to you, he is upset at you calling him Josephine and saying that he wears his mother’s clothes," Adam’s mum told Adam.
"Tell him to get a decent haircut then," Adam said to his mum. "See you whenever." Adam said before ending the call and turning his phone off. "Give me a pint of the adder and a whisky," Adam said to Lewis.
"Careful mate don’t forget the gym tomorrow," Lewis reminded Adam as he poured the beer and whisky.
"Don’t worry, I am only having this before I have some food, do you fancy a Chinese?" Adam replied,
"Go for it, I am starving and as it is quiet, I might check with my dad and see if I can close up early," Lewis grinned.

"That was a great session, it was good to have somebody with me to help motivate me," Lewis said to Adam as he wiped his forehead. "How about making it a regular thing a few times a week?"
"Yeah, I enjoyed the session as well, it sounds like a plan for us to work together to help our weight sessions," Adam replied. "Can I grab a shower?"
"Sure, but could it wait until I have had mine as I have to stock the bar," Lewis said to Adam. "Have you thought anymore on getting your back inked up?"
"I am seeing Scott on Saturday to get webs inked on my elbows," Adam replied. "I have seen a massive dragon ink I would like on my back, but it is completely different to yours."
"Go for it," Lewis said to Adam. "Help yourself to some breakfast."
Adam walked into the kitchen and had some breakfast before having a shower and getting dressed before making his way down to the bar where Lewis was stocking the shelves.
"I will catch you about six before we go and meet Callum," Adam said to Lewis. "I need to go and sort a few things out."
"Sure, we can have a couple of beers before we head into the city," Adam replied. "Are you going to see zero edge next week?"
"I have not heard of them, but yes why not? I will get a ticket when I am in the city," Adam said to Lewis. "Catch you later.
"They are skinhead but more hardcore with a bit of psycho influence in them," Lewis told Adam, as Adam left the pub.
Adam walked back to his house and purchased a ticket for zero edge before turning his phone back on and seeing that he had over ten missed calls from his mother.
"I guess I had better give her a call," Adam thought to himself. "Then I can go into the garage and do some more guitar stuff before I meet up with the punk and the psycho."
Adam pressed the call button on his phone and waited for his mother to answer.
"Where were you last night?" Adam’s mother said as she answered her phone.
"I stayed with a mate," Adam replied.
"Joseph was very upset about what you said about him last night," Adam’s mother told Adam.
"F*** him, he looks like a f***ing girl with that manbun," Adam replied.
"I hope you have cancelled your plans so you can help Kevin and Joseph to move in on Saturday," Adam’s mother said.
"Nope, and I have no plans to either," Adam replied. "I will be spending as little time in the house as possible when goofy and his daughter move in."
"You will also show respect to Kevin and Joseph whilst you live under my roof," Adam’s mum told Adam.
"Our roof, let remind you that in three years’ time I will own half the house," Adam reminded his mum. "See you whenever."
Adam ended the call and walked out into the garage and plugged his bass guitar into the amp and started to play some of the music he had written.

"One pair of spider webs," Scott said as he put the tattoo gun down. "Hope you like them."
"They look superb," Adam replied. "Are you at the party tonight?"
"No, have you not heard that the party has been cancelled?" Scott said to Adam. "Aaron was attacked by some youths last night and is in hospital."
"Is he ok?" Adam inquired.
"They are holding him in as he had a bit of a concussion was the last I heard." Scott replied. "So, it will be a night in the yard tonight."
"I was hoping to crash over as my mum has moved goofy and his manbun son into the house," Adam sighed. "Anyway, can we sort my next ink out?"
"What are you looking at?" Scott asked Adam as they walked out of his studio.
"This one across my back," Adam said to Scott as he showed him the magazine picture. "No expense spared."
"Wow, that will take a bit of doing on your back," Scott told Adam. "It will cost well over a grand even at mates rates."
"Can you, do it?" Adam asked Scott. "I really want it done soon."
"Sure, I can do it," Scott replied. "When are you looking at getting it done?"
"When I have time off from the garage where I am starting work with Tommy on Monday," Adam replied.
"So, we are looking at evenings or Saturday afternoons when the garage closes," Scott told Adam. "Saturday afternoons are pretty well booked for the next three months, and your tattoo is going to take three or four six-hour sessions."
"How about doing it on a Sunday?" Adam suggested. "I would bung you extra for doing it."
"Have a word with your boss, I am sure you will be having a day off in the week so we can do it then," Scott told Adam. "If you need a place to crash tonight you can come back to my place."
"Thank you, I will see you in the pub later," Adam said to Scott as he walked out of the tattoo studio to meet Tommy so he could get some boots and a few other bits for work on the Monday.
Adam got his phone out of his pocket and saw that he had missed calls from his mother again also one voicemail. Adam hit the button to listen to the voicemail and waited.
"Adam, where are you? You were told to cancel what you were doing to help out with Kevin and Joseph move into the house. Call me as soon as you get this message." Adam’s mum said on his voicemail.
"Yeah, I will call you when I feel like it," Adam thought to himself as he found Tommy’s number and pressed the dial button.
"Hey curly, have you had the work done on you?" Tommy asked Adam.
"Sure have, where do you want me to meet you to sort out some work stuff?" Adam replied.
"I am at work until three, so meet me at the garage and we can drive to the warehouse," Tommy told Adam.
"Ok mate, I will make my way there now," Adam replied before ending the call.

"Where have you been!" Adam’s mum shouted as Adam walked into the kitchen. "You were told that you would be helping with the move today."
"And I told you that I already had plans that I could not cancel," Adam calmly replied as he took his jacket off.
"You mean you had booked another session with the tattoo studio for those hideous spider webs on your elbows," Adam's mum said as she saw the tattoos.
"They are not hideous, and Grandad is paying for them," Adam replied as he took a bottle of beer out of the fridge. "I also had to get tools and a few other things for when I start work on Monday.
"You mean your grandad is paying for those spider webs?" Adam’s mum asked Adam. "You wait until I see him tomorrow."
"Don’t forget that goofy and his daughter are not welcome at father's parent’s house," Adam smirked as he poured out his beer into a glass. "Where is goofy and Josephine?"
"They are taking the van back to the yard before picking up a Chinese meal for the four of us," Adam’s mum replied. "Your grandparents will see sense when I introduce Kevin and Joseph to them."
"Wasted the money on me then as I am out tonight and will not be back until tomorrow afternoon," Adam told his mother as he walked into the lounge and put the television on so he could see the football.
"Kevin will want to watch the F1 qualifying session when he gets back," Adam’s mum said as she sat down.
"Goofy can do one, I always watch the football on Saturday," Adam told his mum. "He can watch it in your bedroom."
"I will watch the F1 down here young man," Kevin said as he walked into the lounge. "You can go upstairs and watch the football as me and Joseph always watch the F1 together."
"F*** this!" Adam shouted as he stormed out of the lounge and back into the kitchen. "I will f***ing get Josephine good and proper, make his life s*** while he lives here." Adam thought to himself as he finished his beer and stormed out of the house.
