Flattop Haircut Policy for Male Teachers

As representatives of Elmwood High School, male teachers are expected to maintain a professional appearance that reflects the values of our institution. To ensure consistency and professionalism among our faculty members, we have established the following policy regarding flattop haircuts for male teachers:


Definition of a Flattop:

A flattop is a classic hairstyle characterized by short hair on the sides and back of the head, with the top hair cut short and styled to stand upright in a flat, level plane.


Acceptable Flattop Style:

Male teachers are expected to maintain a traditional flattop haircut, which features a clean, flat surface on the top of the head with well-defined edges and angles.
Maintenance and Grooming:

Male teachers with flattop haircuts are expected to maintain their hairstyle in a neat and tidy manner at all times.
The top of the flattop should be kept flat and level, with no excess length or unevenness.


Hair Length and Style:

The length of the top hair in a flattop should not exceed 1 inch (2.5 cm) in length when styled upright.
The sides and back of the flattop should be clipped short using an Oster blade size #1 (equivalent to 1/8 inch or 3.2 mm in length), with a gradual taper or fade to create a clean and uniform appearance.


Enforcement:

Male teachers found in violation of the flattop haircut policy will be provided with a verbal warning and given an opportunity to rectify the issue.
If a male teacher fails to comply with the flattop haircut policy after receiving a warning, the administration will address the matter privately with the teacher to ensure compliance with school grooming standards.


Flattop Stipend:

Elmwood High School recognizes the unique grooming requirements of the flattop hairstyle. Male teachers who maintain a flattop haircut in accordance with school policy are eligible to receive a flattop stipend of $50 per month.


Support:

Elmwood High School is committed to supporting male teachers in maintaining their flattop haircuts. Teachers who require assistance or have questions about grooming standards are encouraged to seek guidance from the administration or the human resources department.
