LONG, COLORED, CURLS, CUT by Butchme

My hair was longer than it's ever been. It was past the collar in back. I had colored medium brown and it had a nice perm in it.

Out of the blue I decided I wanted a flattop, my first one. I had pictures from the net. It wasn't radically short and had a boxy look to it.

I decided the barbershop I was going to. It had just been taken over by a younger guy. I got out my camera and tripod and using the timer took several beforec

tures. I was especially interested in getting the thick curly hair in back.

I looked at my long curls in the mirror one last time, then headed out.

I got to the shop and went in. The barber was cute with short brown hair. Soon he called me up and caped me. I showed him the picture of what I wanted and he

looked perplexed. The next thing he did was put a lot of Cru Komb in my hair and tried to make it stand up. Then he took his Oster clippers to the side.

Huge amounts of hair was coming off. He did the back and the other side, He sprayed the top with water and decided to cut that scissor over fingers taking it

down like the other.

He stood all the hair up. Then he used clipper over comb front to back, front to back. A lot of hair had been cut off and was resting on my shoulders and the

cape. Then he cut the sides clipper over comb at an angle. He free handed the top with the clippers making it completely flat. He added more CruKomb and

with a boar bristle brush stood the hair completely up and made it all flat.

He turned the chair around. I said it was so short. I got out of the chair t9 look in the mirror. He handed me the picture. It was exactly the same. I bought

one of those round flattop combs and some Butchwax and paid him.

In the car I played with it and added Butchwax, It was so short and different,

I had to go to the grocery store. Time to see who notices the haircut. Right away a woman who works there said, "Man, you sure got your hair cut short". Most

people liked it.

I took pictures of the "after". In the night I woke up in a panic. What had I done?

I got my flat freshened up every two to three weeks. I loved going to different barbers, even out of town. They couldn't cut it as good as the first guy.

Only one other knew what he was doing.

I loved to play with it, I liked to put a lot of Butchwax in it, go out, be seen. Those days are gone. My hair is too thin now.
