Kai discovers the skinhead culture part by Bald K

“I will stay here and facetime my bird," Toby replied.
“Are you coming over?" Peter asked Kai. Right, it is time to face your parents with your skinhead haircut," Dylan told Kai as he finished his beer.
“I guess so," Kai replied nervously as he finished his cola and slipped his jacket back on. “You are coming with me to support me?" Kai asked Dylan and Troy.
“I told you I would come back with you," Dylan told Kai. “Don’t worry you will be fine."
“Maybe I should have checked with them first," Kai said as he walked out of the Vic with Dylan and Troy.
Kai and Dylan left Troy, who had to get to the call centre to do his shift and made their way to Kai’s home where they saw both cars on the driveway and made their way up the path. Kai hesitated at the front door before getting his key out and putting it in the lock.
“Time to face the music," Kai nervously said to Dylan as he turned the key and opened the front door and made his way into the lounge where his mother and stepfather were sitting. “HI guys I sort of got a really short haircut," Kai said.
“You got the skinhead crop then," Kai’s stepfather said. “Suits you."
“It makes you look older, and Dylan mentioned to us that you were getting into the skinhead culture," Kai’s mother said to Kai.
“You knew I was getting my hair shaved off to become a skinhead?" Kai said with a puzzled look on his face.
“Dylan mentioned it to us yesterday that you were thinking of getting the skinhead crop," Kai’s stepfather told Kai. “Steve also stopped by and left a couple of bags of his brothers polo shirts and other stuff."
“Oh, go look at my stepbrother, the idiot had gone and got his head shaved," Toby said as he walked into the lounge. “Kai, the skinhead thug just like his mate."
“At least I am not a young man with a girly perm and have the latest look at me I am a fashion boy," Kai said to Toby.
“Kai has decided to shave his hair off and adopt the skinhead look, you will accept that is how he wants to look," Toby’s father told Toby.
“Where are the bags that Steve left for me?" Kai asked.
“I put them in your room," Kai’s mother told Kai.
“Wait, you mean you are actually going to dress like a skinhead thug?" Toby asked Kai. “Don’t expect me to be seen with you next week on holiday."
“Kai will not be a skinhead thug," Dylan said to Toby. “We are trad skinheads into ska and oi music, we are not racist."
“A skinhead is a skinhead," Toby said to Dylan as he walked out of the lounge.
“Some people will not accept us for what we are," Dylan said to Kai’s parents.
“Take no notice of Toby, he just has to be a fashion boy with no direction," Toby’s father told Kai. “You want to have the skinhead look that is fine by me and your mother."
“Let’s go and try on some of the clothes that Steve dropped off," Kai said to Dylan. “Are we having fish and chips for tea?"
“I will call you when I have got them," Kai’s stepfather told Kai. “Would you like to stop and eat with us?" Kai’s stepfather asked Dylan.
“That is very kind of you, but I must leave soon and get some sleep before I start my night shift at the hospital."
“Wat work do you do at the hospital?" Kai’s mother asked Dylan.
“I am a porter, my father managed to get me a job there a couple of months back," Dylan replied.
Toby and Dylan left the lounge and walked into Kai’s bedroom where they saw two carrier bags of clothes on his bed.
“Nice selection of Fred Perry and Ben Sherman polos," Dylan said to Kai as they took the clothes out of the bags. “Decent braces as well."
“Look, a pair of clippers," Kai said as he took them out of a box. “Look nearly brand new."
“Wahl balding clippers, they will take the hair down just like you have it now," Dylan grinned. “Guess we will not be paying for Dave to do our hair now."
“Nice, bleached jeans as well, all I need now is the boots," Kai said to Dylan. “Hopefully they will be in the shop on Saturday."
“What boots have you ordered?" Dylan asked Kai.
“Fourteen eyelet cherry docs," Kai grinned. “Thanks for giving me the final push I needed to get the hair shaved off."
“I had a feeling you just needed that final little push to get your head shaved," Dylan grinned. “I have got you a ticket for you to see Skadro at the arts centre on Saturday night if you want to come."
“I will be there," Kai told Dylan. “I am so glad I met you and the other skinheads."
“I will call you in the week," Dylan told Kai. “Enjoy your new life as a skinhead."
“I will see you soon," Kai said to Dylan as Dylan walked out of the house.
“How does it feel having virtually no hair on your head?" Kai’s stepfather asked Kai as Kai walked in and sat on the sofa.
“I love it," Kai grinned. “I have just ordered some boots to finish off my new image."
“God knows what my parents will think of their skinhead step grandson," Kai’s stepfather laughed. “I will pay half the cost of your boots."
“More like what will his grandad think of having a grandson with permed hair," Kai laughed. “I will just take this phone call from Mike." Kai said as he answered his phone.
“Kai, do you fancy a few extra shifts in the kitchen this week?" Mike asked Kai.
“Sure, when do you want me to do the shifts?" Kai asked Mike.
“Wednesday through to Saturday and your normal Sunday shift before your week off," Mike told Kai.
“No problem, the extra cash will come in handy while I am away," Kai replied. “See you Wednesday."
“What did Mike want?" Kai’s stepfather inquired.
“He wanted to know if I wanted some extra shifts which I told him yes I would," Kai replied. “I am off to do some stuff in my room, and thanks for stumping up some cash for my boots."
Kai went back into his bedroom and took out some old clothes and put in his new polo shirts and other clothes before getting his phone out and messaged Callum to see if he wanted to meet up with him the next day. Kai got a reply saying that they could meet up about midday. Kai sent a reply saying that he would meet Callum outside the city hall at midday.
“I will wear some of my new stuff when I meet up with Callum," Kai thought to himself.

Kai woke the next morning and walked into the bathroom and smiled when he saw his near shaved head in the mirror. Kai quickly showered and cleaned his teeth before putting his bathrobe back on and made his way back to his bedroom.
“Guess I will not be needing this stuff for my hair," Kai thought to himself as he dumped his hair wax and other styling products into his waste bin before going to the kitchen where he saw Toby sitting staring at his phone.
“Morning skinhead," Toby said as he looked up. “What the f*** made you dump your hair?"
“Because I am not a fashion idiot like you," Kai replied as he put some bread in the toaster. “I want to be myself, and Dylan and a few others helped me with my choice."
“More like they mind f***ed you into getting it done," Toby said as he finished his coffee. “Wait till they dump you and you realise what they made you do."
“They did not mind f*** me, I got talking to them in the pub and it went from there," Kai calmly told Toby. “Dylan and the others just helped me choose what I wanted."
“Whatever, I am off for work and then going to see my bird," Toby told Kai as he walked out of the kitchen.

Kai checked the time on his phone and made his way into his bedroom and opened the wardrobe doors and looked at the selection of polo shirts and selected a white Ben Sherman with red trim and a pair of inch wide red braces. Kai took out a pair of bleached jeans and changed out of his shorts into his new clothes and attached the braces.
“Now I look like a proper skinhead," Kai thought to himself as he looked at his reflection in the mirror. “I will call in and see if my boots have arrived when I meet up with Callum."
Kai put his shoes on and walked out of the house and started to walk towards the city centre.
Arriving in the city centre Kai saw Callum sitting on a bench by the city hall and walked over to him.
“Hi mate been waiting for long?" Kai asked Callum.
“F*** mate you did it! You look great with the skinhead haircut!" Callum exclaimed. “When did you get it done?"
“I met up with Dylan and Troy yesterday and went to Dave’s barber shop where Troy got his skinhead done and with a bit of persuasion I got mine done," Kai told Callum. “Just need the boots now."
“Where did you get the clothes though?" Callum asked Kai.
“Steve who I work with has a brother who joined the navy and was a skinhead, Steve dropped the clothes round yesterday including balding clippers," Kai grinned. “Shall we call in and see if our boots have arrived?"
“Lewis did say they would be in by the weekend, so guess it will not hurt," Callum replied.
Callum and Kai walked the short distance to blast from the past and walked in to see Lewis standing behind the counter reading a magazine.
“Wow guys you look so different with your haircuts," Lewis said as he looked up from reading his magazine. “Did you both get the haircuts done by Dave?"
“I got mine done on Saturday," Callum told Lewis
“I got mine done yesterday," Kai told Lewis. “Just wondered if the boots have arrived?"
“Probably not," Lewis said to Callum and Kai. “It will be more likely to be Friday they arrive, but I will just check."
Callum and Kai browsed some shirts while they waited for Lewis to check to see if the boots had arrived.
“Not arrived yet," Lewis told Callum and Kai as he walked out of the stockroom. “I have checked on the laptop and they are being dispatched today."
“No problem," Kai sighed.
“Where did you get the shirt?" Lewis asked Kai. “That is a classic Ben polo."
“Mate who I worked with gave me his brothers skinhead gear as he joined the navy and grew out of them," Kai replied. “Also gave me a pair of balding clippers."
“I need my hawk freshening up if you are ok with doing it," Lewis said to Kai. “If you f*** up I will just have to go bald."
“I can give it a go, when do you want me to try and do it?" Kai asked Lewis.
“I am not working tomorrow, I could come round about ten in the morning before I get my first tattoo done in the afternoon," Lewis said to Kai. “Where do you live?"
“Seven Southland Walk," Kai told Lewis.
“Just round the corner from me then, wonder we have not bumped into each other at the shops," Lewis replied. “I live in Dominic Drive."
“I will see you in the morning then," Kai told Lewis as Kai and Callum walked out of the shop. “What do you fancy doing now?" Kai asked Callum.
“Lunch then some gaming?" Callum suggested.
“Not much of a gamer to be honest, I prefer drawing fantasy figures or animals," Kai admitted to Callum. “Could head my place and do stuff?"
“Sounds good," Callum replied.

“Morning curly not working today?" Kai asked Toby as he walked into the lounge.
“On the late afternoon shift which means I will not be able to play five a side tonight," Toby replied. “What are you doing?"
“Got a mate coming round in a few minutes," Kai said to Toby. “Not sure about the rest of the day."
“Not with your bald buddies then?" Toby grinned.
“Dylan is not free until Saturday when he is taking me to see a group called Skadrow at the centre," Kai grinned. “They are an upcoming band that plays ska music."
“I am with Katie for the last time for over week," Toby said. “That should be her now," Toby said as he heard the doorbell.
“Hi, is Kai about?" Lewis asked Toby as Toby answered the door.
“Oi Baldy some punk is here to see you!" Toby shouted out.
“Come on in mate," Kai said as he walked out of the lounge. “Do you fancy a drink before I attempt to freshen up your hawk?"
“What do you mean freshen up his hawk?" Toby asked Kai with a confused look on his face.
“Steve put some balding clippers in with the clothes and Lewis asked me to freshen up his Mohican," Kai told Toby. “We will do it in the kitchen, so it is easier to clear up your hair," Kai told Lewis. “I will just fetch the clippers."
Kai went to his bedroom and took the balding clippers out of a drawer and walked back down into the kitchen where Lewis was sitting in a chair with his shirt removed.
“You work out then," Kai said as he plugged the clippers into the socket. “You look well fit."
“Run a minimum of ten k every other day and go to SP gym the other days," Lewis told Kai. “Do you work out?"
“I do about the same as you running and use fitness gym a couple of times a week," Kai told Lewis. “Could do with somebody to motivate me though."
“How about quitting your gym and joining me at SP gym? Sean is a great motivator," Lewis suggested. “I usually go before work."
“When are you going to the gym next?" Kai asked Lewis as he switched the clippers on.
“Tomorrow morning at seven, I could give Sean a call to meet you," Lewis said to Kai as Kai started to shave the growth of hair off the right side of his head.
“I am not working until eleven thirty at the pub, yeah give Sean a call," Kai told Lewis as he continued to carefully shave Lewis’ hair off.
“Don’t even think about using those on my hair," Toby said to Kai as he walked into the kitchen.
“Scared you might look good with a non-trendy haircut?" Kai replied as he started to shave the left side of Lewis’ head. “My stepbrother had the hair on top of his head permed on Saturday," Kai told Lewis. “Thinks he is a fashion icon."
“F*** that, I have never been a fashion boy, you need to be your own person and not follow fashion," Lewis told Toby. “You would look really good with your hair shaved down like Kai’s"
“Not going to happen," Toby said to Lewis before walking out of the kitchen.
Kai checked he had not missed any of the stubble that had grown on Lewis’ head before switching the clippers off and placed them on the worktop.
“Think I done a pretty good job," Kai said to Lewis. “Go and check in the hall mirror."
“Guess I have a new barber," Lewis said as he checked his hair in the mirror. “What are you up to now?"
“Not a lot," Kai replied. “What do you have in mind?"
“How about coming over to my place and discovering a bit of punk rock?" Lewis suggested.
“Sounds good, I will put the clippers back in my room and get my jacket," Kai told Lewis. “Could you clear up your hair mate?"
“Sure," Lewis grinned.

Kai and Lewis walked into SP gym where Sean a well-muscled man with a shaved head and a tattoos running down both arms was waiting for them.
“Hey Sean, this is Kai who I told you about yesterday," Lewis said to Sean.
“Nice to meet you," Sean said to Kai. “Lewis told me that you needed a bit of motivation."
“Yeah, it was a getting a bit of a struggle to motivate myself to go to the gym," Kai admitted to Sean.
“Tell me what you are looking at achieving," Sean said to Kai.
“Build more muscle by working on my abs and arms," Kai told Sean. “I am also aiming to do the half marathon next year and work up to doing a full marathon."
“You have come to the right place," Sean grinned. “I will soon get you whipped into a better shape."
“How much is the cost to use your gym?" Kai asked Sean.
“Thirty a month payable on the first day of the month," Sean told Kai. “As it is middle of the month you can have the rest of the month free."
“I will cancel my direct debit to the gym I use now," Kai said to Sean. “You are cheaper than the gym I use."
“I will give you an assessment after you have changed," Sean said to Kai. “Monthly assessments are extra twenty."
“That is an awesome tattoo," Kai said to Lewis as he saw the skull with a spider web on it with a vibrant red liberty spiked Mohican oh his arm.
“It did not go down to well with my olds," Lewis grinned. “Are you thinking of getting some ink and metal?"
“I am not seventeen until the beginning of September," Kai told Lewis. “But when I am eighteen I will look at tattoos."
“You are old enough to get some rings in the ears though," Lewis told Kai. “I know a guy that will do it for you."
“I will probably take you up on that after my holiday," Kai grinned as he laced his shoes up and walked out of the changing room and over to where Sean was waiting for him.
“We will start with the weights before doing some cardio work," Steve told Kai.
“No problem," Kai said as Sean handed Kai a set of dumbbells.
“You are pretty fit," Sean told Kai as Kai got off the treadmill. “I will work on a schedule for you and email it to you."
“With Lewis I think we will be setting each other challenges," Kai grinned.
“You need to up your running if you are serious about running a half marathon, I would start at a minimum of ten k for this week before adding an extra kilometre every two weeks," Sean told Kai.
“I will get Lewis to train with me," Kai grinned. “I will grab a shower and start the running tomorrow morning."
Kai and Lewis showered and dressed before leaving Sean’s gym and made their way back to Kai’s and arranged to meet up for a run the next morning at six in the morning.

Kai dressed as he prepared to go to the pub for the first of his extra shifts when he heard his phone ring.
“Hey, your boots have arrived," Lewis said as Kai answered his phone. “Managed to persuade my boss to give you and Callum a discount on the boots."
“Great, I will call in and pick my boots up on the way to work," Kai told Callum. “See you soon."
“I will wear them to work so I look the complete skinhead," Kai thought to himself as he secured the braces to his bleached jeans.
Kai made his way into the city centre and walked into blast from the past and saw Lewis with a customer so walked over to the jeans and looked at a few pairs. Lewis finished serving the customer and walked into the storeroom and picked up the box containing Kai’s boots before walking over to where Kai was standing.
“Want to try them on?" Lewis asked Kai as he opened the box to reveal the fourteen-eyelet cherry doc marten boots.
“You bet I do," Kai grinned as he sat down on a chair and removed his shoes.
Lewis took the boots out of the box and Kai slipped them on before Lewis showed Kai how to lace the boots up.
“They are perfect," Kai said to Lewis as he looked in the full-length mirror. “I am now a full-on shaved skinhead."
“I guess you want to keep them on?" Lewis asked Kai.
“You bet I do," Kai replied. “Put my other shoes in the box mate."
Lewis placed Kai’s shoes in the box and walked over to the counter and placed them in a carrier bag and handed the bag to Kai.
“That will be exactly two hundred pounds," Lewis said to Kai. “Cash or card?"
Kai took his card out and put in the machine and punched his PIN in and waited for the transaction to be approved.
“All done for you, I will see you in the morning for our first run together," Lewis said to Kai as he handed Kai his receipt.
“Will do mate, it will be good to have somebody to push my limits," Kai said to Lewis before walking out of the shop and heading off to the pub to start his shift.
Kai arrived at the pub and paused before pushing the side door open and walking in and made his way to the kitchen where Steve was talking to Mike.
“You went and done it then," Mike said as he saw Kai. “You look more mature with the skinhead crop, and you rock the look."
“Thanks for that," Kai said to Mike. “I love the look."
“You certainly look different, you remind me of my brother dressed like that and with your hair shaved off," Steve told Kai.
“Thanks for the clothes and clippers," Kai said to Steve. “How much do I owe you?"
“You owe me nothing," Steve told Kai. “The clothes were going to be chucked and the clippers going to a charity shop."
“The cricket crowd should start to arrive about one," Mike told Kai and Steve. “We always get busy for the cricket."
“When did you get the hair shaved off?" Steve asked Kai.
“I met up with Dylan and Troy yesterday and Troy went to Dave’s barber shop and got his hair shaved off," Kai told Steve. “Next thing I knew I was sitting in the chair caped up and getting my hair shaved off."
“Pity I did not get the clippers to you earlier," Steve grinned. “It would have saved you money."
“True," Kai laughed.

Finishing his shift Kai made his way home and walked into the lounge where he saw Toby with his girl, Helen and her brother Ciaran sitting in the lounge.
“What the f*** happened to your hair dude?" Ciaran asked Kai with a look of shock on his face. “And what is with the boots and braces?"
“Told you that he had gone skinhead," Toby told Ciaran. “He just wants to stand out in the crowd."
“You look great with the shaved head," Ciaran told Kai.
“You look like a thug," Helen said to Kai. “I would never let Toby shave his luscious locks off," Helen grinned as she ran her hand through Toby’s curls and kissed him.
“Eww give it a break," Ciaran said to Helen and Toby.
“We are off to watch a movie," Toby told Kai. “I am sure you and Ciaran can find something to do before Ciaran’s mum picks him up."
“I am sure we can," Ciaran replied with a mischievous grin on his face. “Fancy a trip into the city?" Ciaran asked Kai. “I need a haircut, a real short haircut."
“Are you thinking what I think you are thinking?" Kai asked Ciaran with a grin on his face. “If so there is no need to pay a barber."
“No idea what you are talking about," Ciaran grinned.
“Wait there I will just get something from my bedroom," Kai told Ciaran.
“You have Clippers," Ciaran said as Kai walked back into the lounge with his balding clippers.
“I am guessing that you were going to say to a barber shave the head?" Kai asked Ciaran.
“Maybe," Ciaran grinned. “How short do they take the hair?"
“As short as mine," Kai told Ciaran. “Don’t you think it would be best if you check with your parents before you go skinhead?"
“Nah, they will be cool as," Ciaran grinned. “Can’t stick it back on my head can they?"
“If you are sure," Kai said to Ciaran.
“Yeah, you know me I am a rebel," Ciaran said. “Got a mirror so I can watch the hair get shaved off?"
“I will get an extension lead, and we can do it in the bathroom," Kai told Ciaran.
Kai went to the garden shed and took out an extension lead and walked back into the house and up to the bathroom where he saw Ciaran sitting on a stool with his shirt stripped off. Kai plugged in the extension lead and laid it out into the bathroom and plugged the clippers in.
“I really think you should check with your parents," Kai told Ciaran as he ran a comb through Ciaran’s light brown hair.
“Told you dude, they will be fine, they have been on at me about getting a decent haircut," Ciaran lied. “Give me the clippers.
Kai reluctantly handed Ciaran the clippers and watched as Ciaran switched the clippers on and in one swift movement ran them down the centre of his head removing over two inches of hair.
“Cannot go back now," Ciaran said as he shaved more hair off the top of his head. “Take the rest of my hair off," Ciaran said to Kai as he handed Kai the clippers.
Kai shaved the rest of Ciaran’s head and made sure he had not missed a spot before switching the clippers off and unplugging them.
“I had better have a quick shower," Ciaran told Kai. “Have you got a towel I could use?"
Kai went to a cupboard and took a towel out and handed it Ciaran before taking the clippers and extension cable out of the bathroom and unplugged it. Kai took the extension cable back to the shed before walking back into the lounge to wait for Ciaran.
“I have cleaned up the bathroom," Ciaran said as he walked back into the lounge. “I loved the feeling of the water on what little hair I have got left."
“I see you have also raided my wardrobe," Kai said to Ciaran as he saw him wearing one of his polo shirts and jeans.
“Only until I get my own boots and braces," Ciaran said as he flopped down on the sofa. “How do you think I look with the skinhead haircut?"
“You rock the look," Kai admitted to Ciaran. “Had you planned on getting it done?"
“When Toby said you had your hair shaved off I started to look at YouTube at young guys getting the skinhead look and googled trad skinheads," Ciaran admitted to Kai. “I thought if I do not like it I can grow my hair back."
“You are about to get a reaction, your mum has just pulled up outside in her car," Kai told Ciaran.
“Here goes nothing," Ciaran thought to himself as Kai opened the front door and let Ciaran’s mother in.
“Oh my god!" Ciaran’s mother shouted out. “What have you done to your hair!"
“I got Kai to give me the same haircut as him," Ciaran casually replied. “Guess I will not need another haircut for a while."
“But why so short?" Ciaran’s mother asked Ciaran. “You young man should have waited for me and his father if it was ok to give Ciaran a shaved head." Ciaran’s mother said to Kai. “You know he is only fourteen."
“Ciaran told me that you agreed that he could have his hair shaved down like mine," Kai lied. “I would not have done it if I had known differently."
“What about school? Do they allow boys to have shaved heads?" Ciaran’s mum asked Ciaran.
“A couple of boys in another class have the same haircut," Ciaran replied. “Do you like it?"
“You certainly look different, but you should have ran it past me and your father first," Ciaran’s mother told Ciaran.
“Yeah, I guess so," Ciaran sighed. “But I have wanted to try it for a while and when Toby said that Kai had gone and shaved his hair off I thought why not try it yourself?"
“Well, you can go and get changed and get back down here and you can face your father when we get home," Ciaran’s mother said to Ciaran.
Ciaran walked out of the lounge and changed back into his own clothes before making his way back to the lounge.
“See you soon so you can freshen up the skinhead when I am booted up," Ciaran said to Kai as he walked out of the house and got into the car.
“I will be calling your parents later on young man," Ciaran’s mother told Kai. “You are a bad influence on him."
“Ciaran will be back with his boots and braces on," Kai thought to himself. “His dad will love the haircut on him as he was always on at him to get a decent haircut."

Kai woke the next morning and quickly showered before going down to the kitchen to see his stepfather sitting there reading the newspaper.
“Morning," Kai said as he put some bread in the toaster. “Are you doing anything today?"
“Calling in the city to get my haircut," Kai’s stepfather replied. “I hear you gave Ciaran a skinhead haircut yesterday."
“I guess his parents have been on the phone," Kai sighed. “It was his choice."
“His father was a bit shocked when he first saw it but agreed it is Ciaran’s hair and he is coming up to fifteen," Kai’s stepfather told Kai. “He would like you to help kit him out with the look."
“They are letting him keep it?" Kai said with a look of surprise on his face. “His mother was not happy with the haircut."
“She admitted it was the shock of seeing Ciaran with such a severe haircut," Kai’s stepfather said to Kai. “When can you take him to get kitted out?"
“I will meet up with him on Saturday," Kai told his stepfather. “What time are you going to get your haircut?" Kai asked as he saw a message from Callum asking if he wanted to meet up.
“I am going to go in about thirty minutes," Kai’s stepfather replied.
“Could I grab a lift? I am going to meet a mate," Kai asked his stepfather.
“No problem," Kai’s stepfather said as Toby walked into the kitchen.
“How’s curly this morning?" Kai asked Toby.
“Ok I guess, I have got another late shift today that has f***ed up my plans for tonight," Toby replied. “Helen is not happy that you shaved her bro’s head."
“He asked me to do it, and his parents are fine with it," Kai replied as he started to eat his toast. “Can still give you a skinhead crop."
“In your dreams," Toby replied as he poured himself a coffee and walked into the lounge.

Kai thanked his stepfather as he got out of the car and made his way to the city hall where he saw Callum standing waiting for him.
“You have dyed the shoe then," Kai said as he walked over to Callum. “Blonde looks good on you."
“Thanks man, I see you have got your boots, shall we go and collect mine?" Callum replied.
“Sure, what is the plan after that?" Kai asked Callum as they started to walk to the shop.
“Thought we could just chill with a coffee or something," Callum replied. “I start my part time job at midday at Tesco pushing a trolley around picking customers’ orders."
“You will be working with my stepbrother, Troy," Kai told Callum. “He is the fashion twat with his hair permed with the blowout fade."
“The manager did comment on my haircut saying how different it was to the other young men," Callum said as they walked into blast from the past and walked over to Lewis.
“Alright punk?" Kai grinned. “Gym sesh was great this morning."
“You are going to be a great motivator to me," Lewis said to Kai. “I will just go and fetch your boots," Lewis said to Callum.
“Are you doing anything Saturday night?" Kai asked Callum. “Dylan has got me a ticket to see a ska group called Skadro."
“I am in London with my cousin Adrian at a psychobilly night," Callum replied. “I am not back until Sunday afternoon."
“I go on holiday after my shift on Sunday," Kai told Callum. “Have to meet up when I get back."
“There you go, one pair of black grinder boots," Lewis said to Callum. “Do you want to try them on?"
“Of course, but I cannot wear them at work, they have to be black shoes," Callum replied.
Callum pulled the boots on, and Lewis showed Callum how to lace them.
“They are great," Callum said as he looked in the mirror before removing them and handing them back to Lewis.
“See you in the morning for our run," Kai said as he walked out of the shop with Callum.

Saturday arrived and Kai met up with Callum before meeting up with Ciaran and his father outside the city hall and made their way to blast from the past and walked in and saw Lewis serving a young man.
“Polo shirts and jeans are over here," Kai said as they walked over to the shirts and jeans.
“Hi guys, this must be Ciaran who you told me about," Lewis said as he walked over.
“That is me," Ciaran said as he checked out the polo shirts and jeans.
“Are you looking at getting some boots as well?" Lewis asked Ciaran. “If you want the same as Kai they will set you back over two hundred."
“Do you have cheaper boots?" Ciaran’s father asked Lewis.
“We do have some second-hand boots which are in pretty good condition," Lewis replied. “How old are you?" Lewis asked Ciaran.
“I will be fifteen next month," Ciaran told Lewis. “I take a size eight boot."
“I will just go and check out the back to see if we have any," Lewis told Ciaran.
“You will have a few of my mates visiting your barber shop soon," Ciaran told Kai. “Two have already cleared it with their parents."
“It will have to be early tomorrow morning or when I get back from my holiday," Kai told Ciaran. “Tell them the haircut will cost them a fiver each."
“I have these size eight cherry docs for seventy quid," Lewis said to Ciaran as he walked back to them. “They are in pretty good shape."
“They fit perfectly," Ciaran said as he tried them on.
“How much for the boots, three polo shirts, a pair of braces and the jeans?" Ciaran’s father asked Lewis.
“Let me just check with my boss," Lewis replied as he walked off."
“I guess when we get home you will be getting changed," Ciaran’s father said to Ciaran.
“You bet I will," Ciaran said to his father.
“You can have the whole lot for two fifty," Lewis told Ciaran’s father.
“Sounds reasonable," Ciaran’s father said as he got his wallet out of his pocket and paid for the clothes and boots.
“I will get Louie and Jordan to come over for ten tomorrow," Ciaran told Kai as they left the shop.
“Sounds good," Kai replied. “I had better get to work, I will message you when I get back," Kai told Callum.
“Have a great time and put some photos on Facebook," Callum told Kai.
“Will do," Kai replied as he made his way to work.
Kai finished his shift at the pub and walked into the bar where Dylan, Troy and some other skinheads were sitting at a table.
“Oi skinheads how’s it going?" Kai said as he sat down. “I am looking forward to tonight."
“Doing good, young skinhead," Dylan said to Kai. “Want you to do us a favour before we head off out to the gig."
“What favour is that?" Kai asked Dylan.
“Freshen up the skinhead crops on a couple of us," Brody told Kai. “Dylan told us that you have got balding clippers at home."
“Sure have, and I ordered a barber cape which arrived this morning," Kai replied. “We can set up in the shed to do the hair."
“You can read these books while you are away on the skinhead culture," Dylan said to Kai as he handed Kai a carrier bag with a few books in.
“Give me something to do while I am lounging by the pool or on the beach," Kai replied. “I will give them back after the holiday."
“No rush," Dylan said to Kai. “Enjoy reading about your new lifestyle."

Kai walked into his bedroom and picked up the balding clippers and the cape and made his way to the shed where Brody, Dylan and Troy were waiting.
“Who is first?" Kai asked as he plugged the clippers in and took the cape out of its wrapping.
Brody walked over and sat on the chair and Kai caped him up. Kai switched the clippers on and a few minutes later Brody was standing up and Dylan sat down and was soon shaved.
“My turn," Troy said as he sat down.
“You only had your hair shaved off on Monday," Kai said to Troy.
“May as well get it freshened up," Troy grinned.
Kai ran the clippers over Troy’s head removing a small amount of hair from Troy’s head before switching the clippers off and removed the cape.
“Take a seat and I will run the clippers over your scalp mate," Dylan told Kai. “Get you looking fresh for tonight.
“May as well get it freshened up," Kai said as he sat on the chair and Dylan caped him up and ran the clippers over Kai’s head removing a small amount of hair off his head.
“Time to hit the centre for the gig," Dylan said as he removed the cape from Kai.
“Who is the support act?" Troy asked Dylan.
“Some young guy called Luca Mangili who is promoting his album skinpunk," Dylan replied.
“Apparently it is a fusion on skinhead oi and punk music."
“May as well see what he is like," Brody said as they walked out of the shed and made their way to the arts centre.
Arriving at the arts centre Kai followed Dylan and the others into the arts centre and followed them over to the bar where Dylan ordered four bottles of beer and a cola for Kai.
“Not that busy," Kai said as they walked over to the merchandise stall.
“A lot of people don’t bother with the support act," Dylan told Kai as he bought a t-shirt.
“Oh, I see," Kai said as he paid for a t-shirt and followed Dylan and the others and stood by a pillar as the lights dimmed and Luca walked on stage.
“Hi, I am Luca, and this track is called the rebel inside," Luca said.
“He does not look like a skinhead or a punk," Dylan said as Luca started playing the song.
“Does not sound anything like punk or skinhead oi," Brody said.
“In fact, it sounds pretty c***," Troy added. “There must have been better support bands out there."
“You are f***ing c***!" Somebody shouted out as Luca finished the song. “You haven’t even got a skinhead crop or a proper Mohican!"
“The next song is called rejected," Luca told the sparse audience.
“How the f*** has he got a record contract?" Brody said. “Nobody in their right mind would sign him."
“He has put it out on his own label," a skinhead told Brody. “He has also paid to be the support act."
“You see the s*** picture disc? He wants forty notes for it," another skinhead said. “The t-shirts are thirty quid."
“Get off the f***ing stage, you are pure c***!" Somebody shouted out as Luca finished his second song. “Your music is a mix of c*** and s***!"
Without saying a word Luca looked at the crowd and walked off with tears flowing down his cheeks.
“Thank god he has quit," Dylan said as he walked over with more beers and a cola.
“Crowd is building nicely now," Kai said as he took a swig of his cola.

“Thank you for your fantastic support!" The lead singer of Skadrow said. “We will see you soon and don’t forget the new album called back street rebels is out on Monday and is on a limited-edition union jack vinyl!"
“That was awesome," Kai said as he walked out of the arts centre with Dylan and the other skinheads. “Thanks for bringing me here."
“You are welcome," Brody said. “Are you about tomorrow?"
“I am being picked up from the pub and going directly to the Chalet at the holiday camp," Kai told Brody. “I come back on the following Monday."
“Have a great time and post some pictures," Dylan told Kai as Kai got into a taxi.
“I will do," Kai replied.
After a short journey Kai arrived home and paid the taxi driver before going inside the house and walked into the lounge where his mother and stepfather were sitting.
“Enjoy yourself?" Kai’s mother asked Kai.
“The support act was awful, but Skadrow were great," Kai replied. “Got the t-shirt."
“Have you run your clippers over your head?" Kai’s stepfather asked Kai.
“Dylan done it after I done his hair and Brody’s," Kai replied. “want to look at my best for the holiday."
“Have you seen todays local paper?" Kai’s mother inquired. “Apparently your friend Paul’s father is wanted for theft from the company he works for."
“That will put Paul out of a job before he even starts it," Kai grinned. “That is how they managed to get the big deposit on that fancy new holiday home."
“Have you packed your bag for the holiday yet?" Kai’s stepfather asked Kai.
“I will do it now," kai said. “I will see you in the morning."
Kai went to his bedroom and quickly packed his bag ready for the holiday before switching on his laptop and signed into his account tom read the local newspaper.
“Man wanted for embezzling funds from local electronics company," Kai read. “A forty-five-year-old man is wanted on charges of stealing thousands of pounds from portal electronics; Gary Staunton who works in the accounting department has been found to have syphoned off the money by creating false invoices for a company he set up."
“Paul will be in for a big shock when he gets home next Saturday," Kai thought to himself as he switched his laptop off. “I wonder how Toby’s grandparents will react to me being a skinhead?"
