NEXT the bully part 2 by Barbershop memmories

The plan we hatched worked out perfectly.

When Paul Smith (smigga's) mum came into the barbershop to see Hank, l walked outside and peered through the window of her papershop next door and true to form i saw him helping himself to two 10 packets of cigarettes and money from her till.

I walked back into the barbershop.

Excuse me Mrs Smith but I'm sure I've just seen your son stealing cigarettes and money from your shop.

I knew it,, she exclaimed.

I've suspected this for a while now, she said.

Can you both please come with me she asked.

We both followed her into her papershop.

Have you just stolen cigarettes and money, Hank asked him.

What's it got to do with you Yankee bastar,STOP THAT LANGUAGE RIGHT NOW, she shouted.

Sorry Mum but you know I would never steal, he said,, looking all angelic.

Well turn out your pockets then,, come on, show me.
He didn't move.
I went into his pockets and took out the cigarettes and money.

Th,, They're not for me, a boy at school made me do it, he said.

Don't lie to me she barked,,
I've smelt smoke in your bedroom,,, she grabbed his hand and smelled his fingers,,
You stink of cigarettes,, and your language,,
You discust me.

What am I going to do with him,, she exclaimed.

But Mum,, I'm telling the truth.

Knowing that Hank didn't want to say anything to upset her,, I jumped in.

I'm really sorry Mrs Smith but I have to tell you that I've seen him smoking lots of times and i've also seen him bullying a young lad i know,,. He wouldn't ever say anything, he'd be to scared,, but I've seen it for myself, first hand.

He's making his life a misery.

Who,,who is he bullying and what is he bullying him about, she pleaded.

It's a boy that lives across the road from me,, Christopher Kelly.

I know him, and his family,, They're a lovely family,, i see them walking passed the shop on their way to church on Sundays sometimes, he and his sister always look so smart, she said.

Apparently his appearance is exactly what he teases him about.

She looked at her son,, what do you tease for.

Cos he looks like such a jerk in his salvation army uniform and his goody goody short hair cut.

He just blurted it out without realising just what he had said.

Oh i'm so embarrassed,

I've been far too soft with him.

What am I going to do,

She looked at Hank.

Discipline's what he needs.

Your right,,, a good bloody hiding is what he needs.

I don't agree with that kind of thing Hank said,, but I can have a word with the Captain of the sea cadets,, he's a very good friend of mine,, I'm sure he will be able to sort him out,, bring him here on Sunday to meet him.

I looked at Mrs Smith,, a good haircut might help stop his bullying ways don't you think?

Yes, I do think, she said,, I'm sick of that long mop of his anyway.

I could do it now if you like, give him the cadet induction crew cut,, on the house,, free.

Yes why not, hopefully it'll teach him a lesson not to be a bully.

We all walked back into the barbershop.

OK Paul,, in the chair.

He didn't move.

In the chair right now his Mum ordered.

He sat in the chair and I caped him.

What number guard i asked her.

Oh err I don't know, what you mean, what do you suggest she said.

Well,, if we really want to teach him a lesson then I would say no guard would best suit him.

OK very well,, if that's what you think.

OK keep real still for me, it won't hurt, I told him.

CLACK,, I placed the clippers in the middle of his forehead and ran them quickly right over the middle of his head, from front to back followed quickly by a second pass adjacent to the first.

Oh my that's very short his Mam exclaimed with a bit of a giggle.

Tears began to well up in his eyes and run down his face.

I stopped and looked over at her.

Don't stop, keep going she comanded,,it's what he deserves .

I was enjoying every minute of it.

I did as she asked and carried on until his whole head was completely shaved,,

You might think twice about stealing, smoking and bullying from now on she said to him.

I can use the foil shaver and give him a smooth finish instead of the scruffy looking bristles if you like.

Yes why not, that'll really teach him she replied.

I spent a good while with the shaver only stopping when his head felt completely smooth against my thumb and fingers as I rubbed them over his head.

Is that okay for you i asked her.

That's perfect she said.

It looked very white and really shiny.

I showed him the back with the hand held mirror, he looked completely stunned then i lowered the chair and let him out.

Same for him next week and every week until I'm satisfied that he's changed his ways.

Things are going to be different from now on young man do you hear..

Answer me she barked.

Y Yes Mum.

Now say thank you to this young man.

He looked at me.

Thank you, he said meekly.

Your welcome, see you next week i said to him with a little smile.
