The following day (tuesday) i met Thomas at the school gates at home time,

In assembly that morning, Thomas was stood about 5ft to my left just 4ft in front of me directly in my line of vision with the headmaster on the stage so i only had too lower my eyes a touch to look at him.

Wow, that really is short, i've never seen anything as short and severe as that in my life, it's fantastic. I WANT ONE. I thought to myself.

The back and sides of his head had been shaved so high and still looked bald but not quite as shiny as they did on monday.

How was it today, anyone bother you, i said as we walked home.

Yeah, a bit, that boy watto and his mate Wicksey were calling me names and saying horrible things to me in registration class this morning before assembly,

Like what, i asked,

Watto said , " look at the little creep sat at his desk with his short back and sides,,

Bald back and sides more like it, don't you mean, said wicksey, fancy being made to get a haircut as short as that, aahw did you cry, i bet you did.

I remembered what you said about bullies,
Why would i cry, i like it like this, no one made me , i said and tried not to look bothered.

Ha Ha, yeah, right, and How funny was it yesterday morning when Mr Drake told him how smart he looked.

Thomas looked up at my Mam, " pleased to meet you miss, he said as he held out his hand, Oh my, How very polite,

my Mum said as she shook his hand.


He's comming to table tennis with me tonight,,, well? That's if his Mam lets him.
She's invited me round for tea, she wants to meet me first to check if i'm good enough, i said with a chuckle.
