Looking back on the past year, I can honestly say that I’m proud of myself. I’ve grown a lot, both mentally and physically. Going to the gym four to five times a week definitely paid off, and with my physical progress, my confidence grew steadily as well. It’s safe to say that I’m ending this year as a very different person from the one I started as.

Last night, I went to a house party at a friend’s place and caught up with many people I hadn’t seen in quite a while. Everyone was surprised by how fit I looked, and I received a lot of compliments. But later that evening, someone else stole the spotlight.

Victor, one of my closest friends, arrived with a pale, shiny, freshly shaved head. Everyone was shocked and momentarily speechless until Victor broke the silence: "I was in desperate need of a change, and what better way to start the new year than with a fresh new haircut?"

To be honest, Victor and I weren’t just close friends. Over time, we had started staying overnight at each other’s places, and our relationship gradually became more intimate. And with his bald head, he became even more attractive to me.

I have to admit, it looked incredibly hot on him. He appeared more mature and masculine, his jawline stood out more, and he had the perfect head shape to pull off a shaved head. Coming from an overgrown modern mullet, this was a major improvement. Most of our friends loved the change, and before long, everyone was rubbing his smooth scalp.

Later that evening, I asked Victor what had motivated him to make such a drastic change.
"Eventually, I realized how much I’ve changed over the past year," he said. "When my barber was closed after the Christmas holidays, I took it as a sign to take things into my own hands. At first, I just buzzed it really short, but it didn’t feel right. So I went all the way and shaved it completely smooth. Honestly, you should join me— a shaved head would look perfect on you."

Those words really stuck with me. I didn’t know what to say. Could I really pull off a shaved head? Was I ready to leave my slicked-back hairstyle behind? It was hard to imagine having no hair at all. Fortunately, everyone soon got used to Victor’s new look, and the conversation drifted to other topics.

When the countdown ended and the new year began, I was surprised when Victor came over, hugged me, kissed me, and asked me to be his boyfriend in front of everyone. I immediately said yes. When the party ended, I went back to his place to spend the night with him.

The next morning, I woke up with a strong hangover in Victor’s arms. It took a moment for the memories of the night before to come back to me. But once I was fully awake, wrapped securely in his embrace, everything felt exactly right.

"Good morning. Happy to see you awake," Victor whispered in my ear. We cuddled for another half hour before he got up, touched his head, and said, "There’s already some stubble coming back. Let me get my head smooth again real quick."
